“We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.”

We started this salute with a famous line from the Declaration of Independence, which was approved by the Continental Congress on July 4, 1776. With that, the original 13 colonies announced their separation from Great Britain. And since then the United States of America celebrates this day as its birthday. In the U.S., this day is celebrated with parades, picnics, sporting events, barbecues and fireworks.

It is great that many former foes have become friends and allies. We hope everyone has a chance to enjoy the day, and we wish everyone the very best around the world. A few hundred years ago, these people who signed the Declaration of Independence had something in mind. Freedom, pride, honor...Today, this is still important. We see nations all over the world struggle for economical reasons, we see governments acting against the people's wishes. We see greed, hate, war, racism, espionage against friends...on such a day everybody should keep in mind: Freedom is a thing people had and have to fight for...

There might be guys amongst you not willing to celebrate other countries birthday...and this is acceptable. So let's understand this day not only as a remembering of the birth of the USA, let's understand this day as a global day for celebrating brave people, for supporting them, no matter in which country they life, what religions they care for, what color their skin has.

"My first wish is to see this plague of mankind, war, banished from the earth." - A wise man said these words...it was George Washington, the first President of the United States.

USA is celebrating today, and since we all love the sport called American Football, we are joining the celebrations.
