Free Agent Mascots Outlast Sea Ghosts in a Wild Supercup Playoffs Brawl

Ko Phangan was packed with 139789 maniacs for this Supercup Playoffs scrap, sponsored by Alaskan Adventures Inc. - Being chased by bears never came so cheap!. The experts figured the Free Agent Mascots were the safer bet, and hell, they ended up looking right — but the Sea Ghosts of Koh Phangan made them sweat like a dude in a bear suit on kickoff coverage.
The Sea Ghosts started nasty, pinning Free Agent Mascots deep and cashing in with a safety after Yutaka Irie blew up György Tischler in the end zone. Yuki Uchiyama later drilled a field goal, and the home crowd was loud as hell while Filip Bang kept finding Andy Blanc, nao Fujita, and Ichirou Kagabu to move the chains.
Early in the second quarter, Michael Wyn Jones punched in a touchdown run for the Sea Ghosts, with Uchiyama cleaning up the kick. The Mascots answered after Sándor Faragó picked off Bang and ripped off a chunky interception return, setting up a touchdown pass to Levente Faragó and the extra kick by Árpád Sas. That was the first big “oh shit” swing of the day.
The turnovers kept the drama cooking. György Tischler had the Mascots knocking at the door, then Shoji Enomoto jumped the throw at the goal line and hauled it back 47 yards like he stole somebody’s lunch money. The Sea Ghosts used that momentum to set up another Uchiyama field goal before halftime.
After the break, the Mascots leaned into Xiaoping Bong, Géza Szabadi, Péter Debreceni, and Levente Faragó, grinding through the Sea Ghosts defense. Sas nailed a field goal, then the Mascots put together a clean red-zone touchdown toss to Levente Faragó. The Sea Ghosts answered with Uchiyama’s leg again, but the road team kept coming like a damn pickup truck with no brakes.
The fourth quarter turned into a backyard fistfight. Géza Szabadi hauled in a touchdown for the Mascots, then Filip Bang drove the Sea Ghosts right back and hit Ichirou Kagabu for a touchdown, with Uchiyama adding the kick. The Mascots responded with a rugged march capped by Hamilton Caetano’s touchdown run and Sas’ extra kick, while József Galgóczi and Caetano kept chewing up yards like a couple of hungry dogs.
Down the stretch, Bang tried to drag the Sea Ghosts back one more time. He took a sack from Szabolcs Szili, Edgar Kainihewe ripped off a key run, and Uchiyama drilled a late field goal to keep the building alive. But the Mascots handled the final seconds, moved the sticks, and slammed the door on a damn good playoff thriller.
