2023-03-01 05:16:54 - Relocated Oilers Capture Elusive Monarchs' Bowl TitleReport Abuse

Tuesday 28 February 2023
Office of GM, Dublin Oilers
For Immediate Release

The Dublin Oilers defeated Bradford Tuesday, 44-21, finally hoisting the franchise's first Monarch's Bowl trophy.
It was the third trip to the league's ultimate game for some of the players in red, white, and powder blue, making the fruits of their significant labor that much sweeter.

"I wasn't here for the two Monarchs' Bowl losses, but I've heard a lot about them from some of the guys in the locker room. This team has been running on all cylinders for a little while now, and we definitely have something to prove," Oilers' quarterback Maynard Woodward shouted over cheers on Tuesday.

Fullback Cole Tomlinson found pay dirt twice in the Bowl, taking home MVP honors.
"I just wanna thank our lord and savior above. We wouldn't be here if it wasn't for him, and he put these challenges in front of us. This team...this a great group of guys and we can overcome anything together," said a tearful Tomlinson when accepting the MVP trophy.

Dublin dominated on the ground, racking up over 250 yards and four touchdowns, while Bradford managed only 78 and a score.
Monarchs' champion takes on San Diego in the Global Bowl on Thursday for a chance to bring home even bigger accolades.

For Immediate Release

The Oilers, led by star quarterback Ellsworth Clayton, blasted Berinsfield 70-6 on Tuesday en route to their first ever Monarchs Bowl berth.

"We've wanted our shot at the Squid all season," said Clayton postgame. "They're the real measuring stick in Monarchs right now and we're ready to make calamari!"

Cornerback Grant Keller picked off Hornets' QB Adeboro Meneses twice and took one to the house.
"Our guys up front bring a lot of pressure. Us back here in the secondary, we just wait for the benefits. This was a great performance for us, but we got one more to go to reach our goal!"

Trois Rivieres faces Astroteuthis on Tuesday in a battle of undefeateds. Both will join the Elite League next season.

2021-04-06 21:11:24 - Upstart Oilers Nab First Division CrownReport Abuse

Tuesday 6 April, 2021
Office of GM, Trois-Rivieres Oilers
For Immediate Release

Trois-Rivieres secured its first ever division title in Tuesday's 20-13 home defeat of rival Paxtang, marking a major milestone in the young team's development.

"We knew we could do it," second year quarterback and Monarchs' fourth leading passer Ellsworth Clayton said in a Zoom call after the game. "We just put our trust in God and took it one day at a time. There are lots of haters out there, people who said we couldn't do it, and this wouldn't be sports if that wasn't our number one concern."

Linebacker Djamil Sad (Four sacks, eight total tackles Tuesday) has been a standout since signing with the Oilers in free agency.
"Coach told me when I signed here that this team has something to prove. The defense is the heart of our squad and we gonna go as far as this D carries us," Sad said through tears before his Zoom call cut out.

The Oilers are locked into the fourth seed in the NC and are likely destined for a rough first round matchup at home against the Burnaby Bruisers.
