2019-01-09 15:33:30 - Making NoiseReport Abuse

This was another successful season of development for a team in its third year of playing in 1.1. We won our first division title this year (of course, that was only because Lyon Eagles went Elite - - congrats to them), but failed again to make it past the Wildcard round of the playoffs, this time losing to Flying Ducktales at home. Since that loss, we have been able to bring in a couple more players that should be X-factors in bringing this team to the next level. Sure, we've got a long ways to go, but we are getting closer to our first playoff win in 1.1.

The team went 11-5 this season, an improvement over last year's 10-6 effort, so congrats to the guys making it happen on the field. I will again highlight the players that have made an improvement of at least .5 stars this year. There are not as many as last year, so I hope that next year will be more like last in terms of player progression.

Players that grew at least .5 stars this year:
OL Samual Hendrickson - - Part of an offensive line that gets better every year
LB Mesut Werner - - Love to see the leader of the defense continue to improve
LB Carter Driver - - Some long-lost young talent finally improving
SF Sanun Noppachorn - - Glad to see a future star proving that he wants to be the heir to Werner Schreiber.

With a successful draft (hopefully) and a couple of tweaks to the playbook, this team will be ready to make a statement a statement next season.

2018-10-07 15:35:53 - Successful Second Season in Fire 1.1Report Abuse

The team has made a great adjustment to playing in 1.1, improving a 5-11 record from last year to a 10-6 record this year, finishing second in the division and earning a playoff bid. We were eliminated in the wildcard round by GLADIATORI ROMA in a 21-33 loss. I look forward to seeing this team continue to have success playing at this level. We have a lot of young talent that can help us achieve this.

Many individual players have made leaps in individual ability throughout the course of the season. I would like to recognize the players that improved 1/2 of a star to have an overall rating of 3 1/2 stars:

WR Abbas Omer - - I'm liking the development I'm seeing from a rookie
WR Nathan Bachelor - - This guy is showing huge potential levels in his second year with the team, bought from the transfer market
RB Marques Almada - - A member of the team's first draft class, nice to see him improving
TE Ignacio Soler - - Another member of the team's first draft class, we are building a strong core
OL Jari-Pekka Kantanen - - Another rookie making huge leaps
DL Osvaldo Benedetti - - A second year player looking to be a strong contributor throughout his career
RB Anton Cortes - - The second piece in my next running back duo

Now the players that have improved from 3 1/2 stars to 4 stars this season:
WR Hiro Kamachi - - A strong member of a freakishly young WR core
RB Jake Sherrod - - A veteran from the transfer market, has significantly helped our team
TE Derek Burdette - - A great weapon in the pass game and a stellar blocker in the run game
CB Silas Dorph - - One of the anchors of the secondary

We have a lone player that improved from 4 stars to 4 1/2 stars:
OL Dzanan Saldana - - A future Hall of Famer, your services are greatly appreciated

I would like to take the time to honor DL Emanuel Ngabo for his great improvement in a very short time. Emanuel was part of the team's first draft class. He came in as a 19 year old, 3 star player that was greatly appreciated on the roster of a new 2.1 team. Since then he has become a 4 star stud that has held down the left edge to help lead us to the point we are today. He is a Hall of Famer in the making.

This has been a very successful season with high prospects for next.
