It took him only one play and 7 seconds to score his first 50 yards TD! What a freaky performance from 1st round pick rookie Cody Cross (QB) in his first match as a starter.
Look at the stats:
15 completions for 21 attends (71%), 443 yards, 7 TDs, no interceptions, QB rating: 153.27, longest pass: 73 yards!
He is obviously the MVP of that game but the running game was very effective too and as usual the defense was on fire.
Final result: Lions 110 - Street Team 0.

After a loss in their 1st supercup match the Lions reacted and won the second one 26-0 against Pinas Malakas who are at the same level on the paper. Very good performance from the leader of this team, Rasin Sad who have a good mental coach to help him forget the 6 INTs from previous game.

This first league match was a festival for the Lions at home today. The score speaks for itself: Geneva Lions 89, Pinneberg Renegades 3...
The MVP is the 26 years old Rasin Sad (QB) with 5 TD Passes, 18 completions, Passing Yards: 331, longest Pass: 61 Yards!
The defense was fearsome, with 3 defensive TDs (pic six) and a great front seven who stoped the run and sacked the QB 4 times.
Michel Hielenzinger (LE) performed 6 tackles, 5 for a loss and 3 sacks! What a match that was, all good for the rosters morale.

We now know the truth about Lions HC, here's what Manager Rafi declared a fiew minutes ago in a press conference:
"We had to release coach Cabrera for personal reasons and I found a young motivated and very enthusiastic HC from Bolivia, Paco Santana who is officially the new Head Coach of the Geneva Lions. The contract is allready signed! I know the boys liked Coach Cabrera very much and its going to be very demoralizing for them but as the saying goes: show must go on!"

Some rumors let us think that coach Pablo Cabrera could leave the Lions before season start. A few insiders told us he isn't consistent enough and made some poor choices in playcalling. He also could be in conflict with some older ACs and said multiple times he wants to leave this team. If all that is true it could represent a huge impact on rosters morale just before the beginning of the regular season, probably not a good timing.
