Interesting season - awesome start in the league but then ballsed it up but an awesome SuperCup run when we got to the last 8 or thereabouts. Awards time then

MVP
Bernandino Rosillo - carried the running game and picked up 3 MVP awards in league games.

Defensive MVP
Ciprian Turcan - sack machine. Got 9 of the buggers more than double anyone else.

YPOTY (under 25)
Roberto Moreno - looking a bit of a monster this dude. At age of 21 recorded most tackles and grabbed three picks as well.

OYPOTY (under 25)
Kristian Lloyd - physical monster who complemented Rosillo well in running game.

Pretty meh Draft. Saini should be a decent OL in a couple of years and Miguel will be the future TE.

Pretty boring season really stuck in mid-table. Still got us nice draft spot. Annand drafted in round 1 looks particularly handy. Anyway awards.

MVP
No clear winner on the Hall of Fame thingie. I'm going for Turcan for his 5 regular season sacks.

Offensive MVP
Hjálmgeirsson. Lots of broken tackles and a couple of MVPs. Hence why we've stuck him at FB this year. Good work us.

Young player of the Year (Under 25)
At the point where rookies can't really contribute so ditching that award. Anyway Rosillo wins this one again and also wins a franchise deal.

Well that's the end of our first season in Division 1. Not too shabby really with a 7-9 record. Couple of nice draft picks and all that malarkey. Well done us.

Anyways we've gone all upmarket now. Division 1 team and all that - can't be having silly hamsters as a mascot. Time for a change so the club today has revealed its new mascot Derek the Duck. We've also found a spare car park in Chester to use as our training ground and there's probably a field somewhere to play on but can worry about that later.

Right everyone has awards so time for ours:

Player of the Year
Kende Zsók - well the MVP thing said he won most MVPs so that's good enough for us.

Young Player of the Year
Bernardino Rosillo - again based on MVP things

Defensive Player of the Year
Oscar Kauffman

Rookie of the Year
Numbers McAllister - none of the draft picks made the DC till late seasons so Numbers gets the board

Stupidest Name
Dick Samples - Lol

Can't think of any more so that's enough for now. Cheerio.

2013-04-05 21:28:03 - PromotionReport Abuse

The Hamsters today held an open-top minibus event to celebrate their promotion. Critics suggested that the slight mishap (the open-top bus they planned sadly was double booked) may be an ominous sign for next season but the event was regarded as a huge success with at least 9 people turning up to welcome the Hamsters home.

In other news, excitement is building for the upcoming draft .. although news that the club is hoping to draft 3 punters has tempered expectations a little.

There is speculation in the media that its just a smokescreen and in fact the club is looking to actually bring in a kicker, a gunner and a new kitman but GM and head coach Mike is remaining quiet on the subject although a fairly nasty hangover might have something to do with that.

Anyways ... I can hear a Twirl Easter Egg calling me so that's enough for now. Be sure to catch our next exciting press release ...

Over and Out ....
