yeah, actually, it needs Pete to be able to preset the fixtures thinking about it.....

no it doesnt it just needs a set schedule without needing to work it out with your teammate 1st. just randomising matchups would be best

that would make it easier i agree - but takes away some of the fun of the comp IMO.

it really shouldnt be that hard to do - a little communication, you know what date the games are due to be played, and you set the fixture. Me presetting is exactly the same bar telling you who to play - and i wouldnt want to be accused of any bias or unfairness - especially when im playing in the comp.

But we'll see - im not sure its worth running again tbh

I believe it was/is a fun Format even if it appears to be tough for certain individuals Not to botch it by forgetting to challenge their opponent or by accepting other challenges.
Would love to See a second round to it

Me to.

Dont know if it needs to be so official a setup, but id like to see something like top guy pairs with bottom guy, #2 with #2 from bottom etc.

Also I think we should ask pete to make it an official format. no harm in asking.

My intention was to ask Pete to look through this thread after completion, so he could determine its success/failure in thinking whether it could be an offical friendly comp format.

Im not sure that this thread will make him view it as a success or failure - there are some holes that need plugging and there is the whole partnership mechanism that would need addressing - but once we can get it completed, knowing that most of you have enjoyed the format, then i may well write Pete a proposal and see what he makes of it all.

It was enjoyable yes. The odd minor flaw to iron out (not inviting monkey next time is one) but other that it was enjoyable.

I'd give it another go.

No worries, all in good fun. I did think we would do better, but sometimes things just fall apart.

or let teams designate a team 1 and team 2 and play 1vs 1s and 2 vs 2s
