My season's second half went pretty well.

16-0 league season for the Janitors. We started the development of our new QB1 a bit earlier and dropped and later sold the likely league MVP around week 10. Ended with a +766 point difference, almost hitting a 1000 scored points in the regular season. The wildcard playoffs will be interesting and cannot wait to see the opposing team we are going to get.

In the supercup, the Janitors were the only team that advanced from the 1st round of playoffs from any second division and then we advanced from the second round as well. Tonight's game, even with all the mistakes committed, was the high point of the season so far.

The roster is shaping up nicely and apart from a few positions, where the team could use some developmental talent behind the established guys, the team have very few holes in it's roster.
The youth academy will be weeded out to only keep the talent with an actual chance of making a future roster.
The team will approach the draft with the usual thorough investigation as we did the previous seasons, but considering the team is likely picking very late we can only hope for the best and trust the process.

Week 13

Finally!!! The Lisbon Seacrows got a win!!! The losing streak is over!

A home win against the Czech franchise Kolin Walruses snapped the losing streak! 24-14 was the final score with three touchdowns from the portuguese team against just two from the away team. The halftime score was a poor 3-7 for the Kolin Walruses with a Q1 without any point. Carlos Aboim, the Portuguese kicker got the first “blood” with a 50 yard field goal, but the Czech team answered in the best way getting a td at 8 seconds to the end of first half by TE Sandor with a 15 yards catch. The Portuguese team was praised by their fans at the half time, hopping in a better offensive performance by the Seacrows. The Kolin Walruses franchise got another td in the first drive of the Q3, a 1 yard run by FB Hanna and put the score at a 3-14! The home crowd was silent as the losing streak was keeping on! But the Lisbon Seacrows at 40 seconds to the end of third quarter got a touchdown by FB Heitor Tavares, a running 2 yards td ending a good drive for the Portuguese team after a field goal miss by the away team. That td was the turning point in the game, and perhaps in the season, with the Lisbon´s defense keeping away the rival offense with an interception and a forced fumble. Those were the defensive plays that put the Portuguese team on the offensive assault of the final quarter when they got two td´s and seal the third win of the season! The first one was a 64 yards catch by the best Seacrow´s wide receiver, Cristiano Rocha, putting the Portuguese team at the head of the score by 3 (17-14). The other Lisbon´s td was a fantastic 86 yards punt return by Daniel Nunes (KR), the first one of the season! The final score was a 24-14 with the Lisbon Seacrows getting a 14-0 in the final quarter! Cristiano Rocha was picked as the MVP with 105 receiving yards, 5 catches and 1 td, and in the press room he was the happiest man: “We deserve this! We work hard and we always play to win! We trust in any defense play, in any offense play and in any special team play! Each player of this team is always working hard, pushing hard, always believing and always trusting in our teammate, in our crow brother! We are a family and this win is a team´s win! This MVP award is for all my crow brothers! GO SEACROWS! The f$cking streak is over!!!”

Week 14

The Seacrows good fight wasn´t enough! The Bristish Blu win 28-20!

The home win against the Czech franchise Kolin Walruses got the Seacrows out of the losing streak but the visit to the Blu´s home was a great challenge to the Portuguese team momentum. The Seacrows beat the British in the 1st quarter with surprise by a 10-7, with the Portuguese team replying to an earlier home td with a 21 yard field goal and a 4 yard running td by the scottish RB Herve Hun after an interception by the Seacrows defense. In the second quarter both teams were fighting to win and 3 td´s were scored in sequential drives. First the home team with a 2 yard run td, immediately replied by the Portuguese team with also a running td by the FB Julio Lopes and in the next drive the British Blu got another td, this time a 7 yard pass td. Until the end of the first 30 minutes nobody got more points and the half time score was a 21-17 for the home team in a great and entertained game! The favorites British Blu was challenged by the “new” winning Seacrows. In the third quarter the Portuguese team got three points from a 34 yards field goal, keeping the home team scoreless. Entering the last quarter the score was a surprising 21-20, with the Lisbon Seacrows in the fight. In the first home drive in Q4, the British team got a 5 yard pass td, putting the difference at 8 points. The Seacrows fight until the end for the win but just got a missed field goal with the home defense shutting down the Lisbon´s passing and running game. The final result was a 28-20 with a good performance by the Seacrows with a 371 total yards against the 429 yards by the home team and a 51% vs 49% time of possession. The Seacrow´s HD was happy in the press conference: “We were the underdogs here! All the team was fighting until the end! The before game´s predictions were against us all the way. They are a better team and they are in the fight to win our division. Getting this result and the way we got it it´s a great achievement for us! We played very well in all phases of the game. With some luck, we can beat this fantastic team. I´m very happy with our game! Just remember that in the first game they beat us 44-10 in our home and now we are here and just 8 points were the difference, one td with extra points. Just that! Great game by us! Congrats to all players, I´m proud of them!”

Week 15

Another loss but a good effort!

In a home high level difficult game, Lisbon Seacrows lost to the german franchise “Thunder and Lighting” with a 33-17 final score! The total yards - 407 vs 454 and the 53% vs 47% time possession was a real sign that the game was closer than the score shows with the Portuguese team always getting in the way of the favorite away team. The first quarter was just a field goal scoring rivalry with the away team winning 2-1 and the final score 6-3. In the second quarter the “Thunder and Lighting” won again 2-1 but in td´s. The first one was a 13 yards pass by “T and L” WR John Mantila, and then the Seacrows reacted with a 50 yard passing td by Sebastiao Gama (WR). At 1:17 to the end of the half, the german team got another passing td by wide receiver Adam Mayer, closing the half-time score to a 20-10 for the away team. In the second half the favorite “Thunder and Lightning “ got another td by the game MVP WR John Mantila closing the game with field’s goals. The final score 33-17 was an upset for the Portuguese team that keep the challenge until the end, but was incapable to score more than another passing td in last quarter by TE Jaco Tavares. In the press room, Seacrow´s Head Coach was happy with the team´s game: “We played well but they were too good for us! We keep scoring touchdowns which are the indicator that we are better and developing a better offense. The QB change was just for resting Barros and keeping Caputo on the call. He had a good game with a 68% complete pass percentage and a 96.57 QB rating. We have 3 good QB´s and I decided to put Bonaventura in this game and he delivered what we expected from him in the game. I don´t know if he will start next game but we believe in our QB corps.”

Week 16

Last game and an expected loss to Division champs BSOD!

The final score was 38-10 with Seacrows getting points just in the last quarter and the game decided in the half time (24-0). The Portuguese team was out of the game in the first half with the home team crashing the Seacrows final zone by 3 times and one successful field goal. In the third quarter the BSOD team got another td putting the score at 31-0 and left the final quarter to the Portuguese team, allowing one running td and a field goal against just another French team touchdown. The final statistic revealed that the Portuguese team got just 288 yards and 4 in 13 third down conversions against a superior french team with total 371 yards and 5 touchdowns.
That game loss closed the Lisbon Seacrows season with a 3-13 and last place in the AC West Division, same division that BSOD win with a 14-2 record. The Seacrows will play Relegation`s playoff game and got the 27th Dragons 1 League final place.

It was a good season for a team that are building for the draft and have just 6 four star players and was not ready to be promoted for League 1. I don´t know how the playoff relegation game will go, but we must be the favorites and we will try to be here next season. It was a hard season and a great lesson to me as owner. It was the first season that I started to study the rival teams and projecting an offensive and defensive playbook. If the Lisbon Seacrows win the relegation game I will be more focused and keep fighting for the victory against all the other great and experienced owners.

nice job nigel, you can see the big jump in class between dragons 1 and 2 ,teams ranked 1 elo in div 2 would still be in bottom 3 or 4 rankings in div 1.when i eventually get to division 1 ill be same as you just trying to hang in there by the skin of my teeth and then gradually try and improve from there

10 rating points less, fast 0:17 points back and in the end 90 yards more and the victory was possible. But as so often in the season - at first I was not lucky and then I was unlucky.

The age of my players and the low salary of my team make us optimistic about the new season.

Don't worry too much about salaries, money is just money … I have more money than the US Federal Reserve
