Such a good team going bot is terrible... I hope he can get back with a new team very soon...

Who will face them on playoffs?

Not sure yet, but him being bot means that the Shocks are likely out of relegation fight, unless the Outlaws beat QUACK.

Knoxville and Thunder may face them on WC depending on the last round results. Salmons will be #5 so the worst division champion will have some advantage this time...

I kind of wanted to do a summary-like post here for a time now, but considering the regular season ended yesterday it seems like the best time is right now.

As this was my rookie season in the league I was quite anxious about it initially, despite the fact that I was arguably preparing most of the season prior to be competitive. "Ancient" teams were supposed to be my opponents, with experience I never hoped to match this early (and I knew that having a superior roster is just not going to happen, like in D2).

I got lucky with my placement in NC West, not gonna lie. Schulz was a really good player when I started the game, Paris was a team that was in it's 33rd season and with 12 seasons spent in Elite. My only hope was that the Pioneers were also a rookie team, so I was supposedly at least in a better position than them.

Then Schulz were looking to go bot (and did), so that was one down and one relegation spot firmly occupied. The Pioneers are one of the slow building orgs, so I wasn't anticipating a sudden rush of veteran FAs from them, which meant that likely I won't be facing a tough group.
The NC East and AC South opponents were luckily also seemed beatable, at least on paper, so I kind of elevated my expectations from avoiding the (r) spots to making playoffs.

Well, considering the team only slipped once vs. Knoxville I'd say that was not an unrealistic expectation. I'm now waiting for the playoffs, but I know that a promotion would likely hurt me more than help (unlikely to happen though, I'm anticipating a one and done). I'm still playing to win, no matter what, but I'm already more than happy with what the team achieved this season.
I still need to figure out many many things and the team is going into a transitional period roster-wise.

Thank you for all the people who gave me advices and helped me all season long, also thank you for my fellow league members (not just opponents) for the enjoyable league season. Despite what it looks, it wasn't that simple.

Good luck for the playoffs (and fighting off relegation)!

And the season is over!

With a 9-7 record, a positive win percentage for the first time, the Lisbon Seacrows got a fantastic second place in the AC West. The Seacrows also got a place in the Supercup playoff´s with a thrid place and a 13-2 record, beating 3 Division 1 teams in the run. They fall short in the first game 24:31 to the german D1 Galaxy team Bretzel Bandits, ending the dream of challenge a Elite team in the Supercup.

The Seacrows just played 3 games against BOT team and the League´s game calendar put some good teams in the way of the Seacrows: Ac East ljubjlan dragons winner (11-5), London Lions and Rio Stars both 9-7 teams; AC North winner Tampa Bay Bandits 15-1 and NC North winner Juggernauts Jackalopes 16-0!

The 10 wins in a row (League and Superleague) was another record for the Seacrows that pulled out from a 3-5 first half League, to a 6-2 second season half, with six consecutive wins in the League.

This was a great season for the portuguese team that last season was in the relegation battle, and now apear to be one of the middle table teams getting some good wins against other good teams and just falling to the better teams in the Division.

The numbers show that the Seacrows are in the top 10 in offense with the 9th place in passing and 5th in running with a total of 61 touchdowns. The defense is less efective with a good pass defense (5th place) but with a 11th place in running, with the Seacrows headcoach and football director saying that the defense must be improved by draft or transfer market.

The portuguese franchise announced that will increase the Altice Arena capacity. With actual 53075 seats, the Arena was close to be at max attendance but never was sold out. The good results and the great season was decisive to the Seacrows board betting in the expasion of the Altice Arena. Next season the Arena will have 70000 or 80000 seats, depending on the board meeting in the next days.

Final note to LB98 Luiz Cerveira that will be retiring with 174 matches for the Seacrows, with 14 interceptions caught, 4 fumbles forced and a total of 8 defensive Tds. The defensive captain will be always remember in the Altice Arena!

Actually I didn't want to get into the EL, but somehow nobody from our conference seemed to want to do that either - so it got me and I'll say goodbye to you for one season.

My team is far too young for the EL, my team is far too weak for the EL and my wallet is underfilled.

I'm sure I'll see most of you here in season 39
