Thank you Pete, nice addition, love it
@Captain Jack, it's possible to hide this with a Chrome extension like Tampermonkey and javascript. If you want, I can provide you the JS ? I don’t know if Pete is ok with that ? Just tried, and works like a charm Captain Jack wrote:
My question was why is there a fix for one player who says " It's making the page very uneven and harder to read what was already there." but no fix for someone with visual problems? This seems quite unreasonable to me. Although I didn't like the new feature it didn't cause me any problems per se. This one does cause me problems. Can it not be removed until a fix is found? I am not attempting to blackmail you I was responding to those who thought it was funny. As a note (in answer to the recent suggestion) I have tried enlarging my screen but that doesn't work. Maybe I could try making all sorts of adjustments but I have better things to do with my time, especially given that I might not find a solution and in any case I would not use the 'feature' so it is totally useless for me. Why spend eons of time trying to find a way to remove/obscure/hide something that is useless? pete wrote:

Yes, that one was easy, only visual. Creating a feature that keeps a setting "show / hide" will need a structural change on the database to save it, some coding in the settings to allow a manager to turn it on or off, and finally some less coding in the training page to take effect. The other solution was a 30 mins thing, the one you ask for will cost me 2-3 hours. I do not have this time right now. Captain Jack wrote:
Well it's easy enough to go bot. is this a rather poor attempt of blackmailing me, or just miserable mood? |

Seriously, I don't get the whole thing. I am spending my time to establish a new feature, which quite a number of managers find useful, it seems. And you ask me to remove it, because 2 persons so far - you included - are not happy with the presentation? A presentation, that does not blink or rollover text, no animation, that just displays some boxes in two different colors which represent the status of a certain skill. No, I won't remove it. |

This happens on the client side, and since there is not anything I could against it, I am all for it. Btw, seems to be like Greasemonkey, which I was using heavily and even provided some scripts for the community of grid-iron.org Last edited on 2023-06-05 14:59:32 by pete |

Thank you Pete. Indeed, it's similar to Greasemonkey.
Here is the javascript for anyone annoyed with this feature to copy/paste in the extension of your choice : (function() { $("form[name='training'] tr").each(function() { $(this).find('td:last-child').hide(); }); })(); Very simple, you just won't see the colored tags pete wrote:

The issue is very much the brightness of the color rather than the fact that it's red or yellow. What I mean is instead of it being the brightest most glowing possible red and yellow, can the page use duller colors - in the RGB color model, reduce the amount of red, in HSL color model, reduce the Lum? I don't know if that's possible but maybe it would be less 'in your face' for Capt Jack.
As an example, when one is writing a message, the red color used on the "Link to: / Forum link:" line is duller than the red of the "Sarcasm" sign. Best regards, JohnHW |

So you are suggesting that I dispense with the supporter account benefits in order to eliminate one thing I cannot use?
Seems a bit silly to me! Taking away all the benefits to eliminate one useless function? G4ngsta wrote:

Nobody asked you to do this. You did it of your own free will. Everything was fine until one user asked you to change it. Now you are digging your heels in at a simple request. You could remove the colurs, put the *cap reached* in bold and the *almost* in feint but no, you are being quite pedantic. Why is the view of one user - which after all was just a "doesn't fit my screen" more important than another user "I have physical difficulty"?
I am being asked to ignore my difficuty. Why didn't people object to the previous player's request and say "well, that's your problem"? It seems the whole world is ready to support the view "It doesn't fit my screen" but is up in arms against "I have physical difficulty" pete wrote:

Don't know what browser you're using. On Firefox it does work. Of course you might have to increase the size (Ctrl++ or from the top menu) more than once. In my case after 3 times I saw the scroll bar at the bottom - but not enough to move the colours out of the way. The 4th increase did the trick.
If time is the problem, it takes a few seconds to move the entire browser window just enough to the right, to cover the colours behind the right edge of a comp. Neither is elegant or a solution. But both work. |
