Great game Marinarul
Sailors simply outplayed my team.
Fourth down conversions 3/4 and 2 TD very impressive!
Your team was a war machine from the beginning to the end.
congrats

Week 14 Headlines
Catamounts shutdown Verona, move into 'virtual lock' for playoffs
Behind a stingy defense led by the 4-sack, 2-interception effort of LB Shon Wynn, the Dalton Catamounts suffocated the Idrosburghi offense en route to a 26-3 win. Verona looked a bit flat whereas the Catamounts were playing like it was the match of the year () winning the first of the late season two-game matches between the two squads. As a result, JaGreen's team is now a virtual lock to make the playoffs and are clear favorites to win the NC South and likely the NC 4th seed as well. Sandrez's team, however, moves into a three-way tie at 9-4 with the Philadelphia Phoenix and Bautzen Greywolves (both winners today) for the two wild card spots. In this game, LB Wynn was huge for Dalton. On his first interception, he picked off a pass on his own 5yd line, stopping what would have been a likely Verona score and added a long return to set up a FG for the first points of the game. The second pick happened in the 4th qtr of a 13-3 game and set up the game-sealing TD a few plays later.

Sailors pull away in the second half to beat Ravens, 27-6
The Constanta Sailors' superior rushing attack led marinarul's team to convincing 27-6 beating of divisional rivals, Baltimore Ravens. By using a running game, the Sailors were able to keep the Ravens off the field, dominating the time of possession and out-rushing PJ's team 212 yds to 41 and averaged more than 5yds/carry. This was a close, low-scoring game during the first half, but a Sailor TD just before the end of the second quarter proved to be all of the cushion marinarul needed, pulling ahead 14-6 at the half. The Ravens couldn't get any offense going in the second half as they only managed to enter Sailor territory on one drive, which ended on a long, missed FG attempt. The win essentially clinches the Sailors the AC South division title and a first round bye in the playoffs. Perhaps a divisional round rematch is in the cards.

Greywolves ride kicker's strong leg to 21-7 win
It wasn't a pretty, but the Bautzen Greywolves survived the Chicago Cubs, winning 21-7, despite not finding their way into the end zone. Greywolves kicker Charoensom Keacham was the hero in this one, going 7 of 8 on FG attempts and accounting for all 21 points. Both offenses struggled on the day; the Chicago Cubs managed only five first downs and 161 total yards of offense. The numbers weren't much better for Damion's team: 17 first downs and 295 yards of offense. But all that matters at this stage of the season is adding another tally to the win column as the Greywolves' playoff hopes remain very much alive.

Sorry about the MOTY, but you gotta use it sometime and I needed to increase the likelihood of a win against your squad.

pfff.
don't worry.
you did that to win

I don't feel this team (read "generation" 'cause I create all my own players) can win something.
need more strong players.
so I didn't need a win (and didn't use a MOTY)

Week 15 Headlines
Late INT ends La Spezia upset bid, and likely playoff hopes
The Rainbow Warriors' defense produced a 4th qtr turnover in its own territory to beat La Spezia Sprugoleans 19-17. The loss, which drops alexmi's team to 8-6, likely ends his chances at a playoff bid as he probably needed to win out. Still, the strong showing marks this as a team to watch next season. This match started well for La Spezia has they scored first to go up 7-0. Then using a bend-don't-break defense, alexmi kept ashlee out of the end zone but gave up several FGs to fall behind 9-7. But La Spezia rallied to take the lead 17-9 about midway through the 3rd qtr. The Rainbow Warriors responded by scoring the final 10 pts, culminating in a lead-taking FG with 9 minutes remaining. La Spezia took the ball and marched all the way to Warrior 34yd line with just over 2 minutes left. On a 3rd and 12, Warrior LB Suketu Baccus came up with an INT to hold on for the win.

Philly Phoenix comeback fails, Catamounts win again
The Dalton Catamounts jumped on top of the Philadelphia Phoenix early and fought off the comeback attempt to clinch a playoff spot officially, winning 30-17. For the first two and a half quarters, this one is looking like a Catamount romp, as JaGreen's team went up 23-7. But a long, late 3rd qtr FG from the Phoenix looked to spark a second life into the team and they cut the deficit down to 23-17 after an early 4th qtr TD after stopping the Catamounts in the red zone with an INT. But Dalton took the next possession the distance to build a comfortable lead and finished strong, 30-17. The loss means Worpex's team (9-5)might have to win out to get a playoff spot depending on what the Bautzen Greywolves (9-5) and Idrosburghi Verona (10-4) do to end the season. The remaining schedules are as follows: Philly @ Devon Warriors and vs DCW; Bautzen vs Littleton Red Devils and @ NY Revolvers; Idrosburghi @ Michigan St and vs Dalton Catamounts.

Gdansk Redskins' 30-25 win over Schrodingers Cats keeps slim playoff hopes alive
Any chance the Gdank Redskins have at sneaking into the playoffs first hinges on Bunio's team winning out, and they cleared the hardest hurdle in upsetting the Schrodingers Cats, 30-25. This was a wild match with Dolfin's team taking the rare 2-0 lead, which was the score at the end of the 1st qtr. But then the Redskins came alive in the 2nd qtr posting 20 points to go up 20-8 at the half. The Redskin rally lasted through the 3rd qtr with a 38yd TD pass and a long FG to go up 30-8. The Cats followed up by taking the ball all the way to the Redskins' 1 yd line but settled for a FG, but added TDs on the next two drives to make it a 5-point game, but Bunio's team was able to grind out the remaining time on the final drive to get the thrilling win. However, despite the win, the Redskins (8-6) are hoping for miracles to happen to catch either the Michigan St Spartans or Växjö Gladiators AFC (both 10-4) for the final AC wild card spot.

Motivated Ravens squad shuts down DCW
The Baltimore Ravens were playing like a team hellbent on avenging a blowout loss last season against the DC Washingtonians. PJ's team dominated this one from the start, beating DCW 29-7. A week after looking lost offensively against the Constanta Sailors, the Ravens were re-energized playing as if this was the match of the year () against a Washingtonian team that was perhaps spending too much time scoreboard watching instead of playing football. While moving the ball seemingly at will, the Ravens had a hard time finding the end zone after the 1st quarter, settling for 5 FGs the rest of the game. But it was more than enough as the stingy defense recorded six sacks and held DCW to only 252 yds of offense and 7 points. Despite the loss, the home crowd celebrated as the final seconds ticked off the Philly-Dalton game as the Phoenix loss made DCW repeat NC North division champs and either the NC 3 or 4 seed. As for the Ravens, they look the favorites for the AC 5th seed and a match with either the Schrodingers Cats or Konjarnik HighTowers.

ptdoc it is always a pleasure reading your articles.
Sorry for using MOTY against you.
It was not for the "The Battle of the Beltway!" rivalry I tryed all I could to keep my team away from the 10-4 battle for post season.
Now Ravens future is in our hand and I have not to rely anymore on a Constanta Sailors win over Växjö Gladiators AFC on week 17.
As marinarul said "strange things happen in AC South!"
