Melittlemenon thepitchhitchin (10-3) at BobBoy Magpies (12-1)

It's been 11 seasons since Melittlemenon thepitchhitchin beat the Magpies in an official game. That's a long time to go without a victory vs a certain side, but earlier in the season Melittlemenon thepitchhitchin were within 1 point of victory. At the moment these two look faintly close in strength.

Offense

QB Anthony Motley, the 7th ranked passer in Admirals 1.1 leads the Magpies into this contest today against QB Cemal Jelic of Melittlemenon thepitchhitchin, the 8th ranked passer in the league this year. These two are almost mirror images of each other posting similar completion percentages, yardage totals, average yards per pass, touchdowns, QB ratings, and even interceptions. The only thing absurdly dissimilar about these two is the outrageous amount of sacks that Jelic has endured this season. He's had to get up off his back 37 times! That's the 4th highest sack total in the league this year and makes me fearful for his health and success. In the running game, I've previously introduced the Magpies do-everything FB Ron Salmon. He's currently ranked 2nd in the league in rushing; however, the duo of FB Yoann Borel and RB Adem Vogt, the 7th and 8th ranked rushers in the league thus far, give Melittlemenon thepitchhitchin an absolutely devastating rushing attack. Truly one of the top rushing offenses in our league.

Defense

The Magpies elite pass rush is lead by Elliot Farr. He's accounted for 22 of the Magpies league leading 65 sacks this year. He's able to be productive because the Magpies attacking defense lives in the opponents backfield accounting for 130 total tackers for lost. That's good enough to tie them for 3rd this season. These are stats that Melittlemenon thepitchhitchin cannot replicate as they don't employ the same "hair on fire" pass rush tactics as the Magpies. Melittlemenon thepitchhitchin are fierce at the point of attack preferring to dominate the line of scrimmage with their duo of DL Buck Ash and Saul Hyman. With these two monsters leading the defensive front, the rest of Melittlemenon thepitchhitchin are able to generate the 8th highest total of fumbles forced in Admirals 1.1 this season. The approaches are different, but both teams appear to be quite effective as they've generated similar turnover totals, 16 for the Magpies vs 15 for Melittlemenon thepitchhitchin.

Special Teams

Melittlemenon thepitchhitchin K Cornelius Berube is slightly more productive than Magpies K Ollie Monahan. I believe this is due more to volume than skill as Berube has 4 more attempts while kicking from a more shallow distance on average than Monahan. What's really interesting is the overall productivity of Melittlemenon thepitchhitchin returners. This team has 3 players with more than 20 returns and all 3 of them have a return of 55 yards or more. Rolf Colson for the Magpies is no slouch, posting his own 74 yard long this year, but Melittlemenon thepitchhitchin are some runnin' fools.

Analysis

The sack total endured by Melittlemenon thepitchhitchin QB Cemal Jelic is extremely troubling to me. This weakness appears to play right into the hands of the Magpies. I do believe that this weakness can be overcome with the running game, but the threat of getting behind the chains is ever apparent.

Prediction

BobBoy Magpies

Excited on that game too. Little Men has to put his best football on the table to stay in hunt for the Playoffs. Not easy, but also, not impossible.
