A Statement from the Torchwood Aliens management "We do not understand all the fuss being made about magic mushrooms. On our home planet they are not only legal but form a staple of our diet. Trying to prevent us from eating them would be a violation of our alien rights.
Moreover, we feel that we must complain about the rules for the Leatherhead League only being available in English with no translation into our alien language. After some painstaking research our translators have hit upon what might be the problem. On our home planet carrying the ball is called a 'pass' whereas here you seem to call it 'run'. The reverse also applies that when we throw the ball we call it 'run' whereas you call it 'pass'. We cannot be blamed for any transgressions when we are following the rules as we understand them. If your human society insists on using, in our eyes, wrong terminology that is not our problem. We will be lodging a formal complaint with the IFL (Interstellar Football League) forthwith." |
