Not exactly. Players with more potential for improvement seem to run a little higher for me (so young players, players with big teamwork). Also when you negotiate matters, too. Negotiate at the beginning of the season, and players will want more money as opposed to the end of the season. I'm an end-of-the-season person, so my numbers are different than those who negotiate at the beginning (I believe TigerCats in Elite does his at the start of the season)

Also, the demo numbers are just for practice to see how it works, but the numbers you get from the demo do not carry over into the actual negotiations. As previously mentioned, at the end of the season, a +1 contract is usually around 85-86% of the projected salary. I find with a +2 contract, I can sometimes get it down to 84% or less

I believe that end of season numbers are the same as beginning of season numbers, but just shifted.

For example, end the very end of the season you can do a this+2 for 85/86%. You can sign the same player at the very start of next season (assuming you didn't change his highest two skills that impact wage calculations on that one training session between HR closing and opening) for a this+1 for that same 85/86%.

If you want to negotiate a This+2 at the start of a season it's usually around 105/106% wage "demands".

As ptdoc mentioned, higher TW and younger guys are going to cost ever so slightly more.

For that matter, sometimes 50 TW guys ask for a whole lot more. I don't know if their hidden TW is sometimes a lot higher than 50 ... and for all other calculation purposes it's capped at straight 50 but not capped in the salary demands. Not sure, but something I've noticed during negotiations.

I'm a beginning of season person. I think you can better utilize the this+2 savings on guys that you really want to push skills on doing this. For vets that are going to have stable skills it doesn't really matter end of seasons vs beginning, but for youngsters and guys transitioning into starting rolls I believe that doing contracts at the beginning of the season allows for more flexibility in planning your roster and taking advantage of the longer contract terms.
