Anvala ...Lilywhites???
If you won't ... I guess I have to be the first to mention iZombie.
If I had to pick one "over the air" network show that is still airing ... that would be it ... great combination of comedy + fantasy/sci-fi

Trek: my choice is Voyager.
Original - I'm a little too young for that: Even ... when ... I ... was ... 9 .. watching ... re-runs ... Shatner's ... pauses ... seemed ... too ... exaggerated.
Next Gen - very close 2nd:
Too much hype too early
(episode 5)
The Traveler wrote: And such musical genius as I saw in one of your ship's libraries, one called Mozart, who as a small child wrote astonishing symphonies, a genius who made music not only to be heard, but seen and felt beyond the understanding, the ability of others? Wesley is such a person, not with music, but with the equally lovely intricacies of time, energy, propulsion, and the instruments of this vessel, which allow all that to be played.
Wheaton!!!! ... Show the math.
Voyager - Just seems to have the best re-watch-ability (not even counting the 7 of 9 factor)

Now we need to open the floor to Dr Who vs. Torchwood ...

House of Cards until he got the presidency for me. Kinda fell out of the series after that, but up to then it was the political series that has ever had me hooked.

Also a very recent one but the new series For the People which only has like 3 episodes or so available is a very interesting American legal series

I liked how each season was a different piece that added to the greater whole. It was such a detailed and nuanced piece of storytelling throughout that it's still entertaining to watch even years after it ended.

yep, all in all my #1 as well. the show effortlessly analysed socio-economic problems and political realities of contemporary society and the failure of state institutions from so many angles while never preaching to its audience, it is just so well written, always entertaining and really fun to watch

Give it a try. Season 2 is kind of psycho sometimes, but in season 3 the story gooes on, and needs the story told by season 2. Can recommend it.

In terms of older series for me it is definitly Star Trek Next Generation!
I always wanted to be like Captain Picard

From the newer series best one is Breaking Bad, closely followed by The Walking Dead.
Not because of the scenarios, but because of the character development in this series.

And last but not least House of Cards and Game of Thrones.
