What a heartbreaking loss in the Wildcard game...

I tweaked my playbook a bit and it worked through the first half, but in the second half I had to watch my team start running the ball on third and 7 with less than 10 minutes left and trailing by 3...

Obviously my playbook is still not where I want it to be, but after keeping the game so close, as well as looking back at some of my other games I won this season, I am very pleased with the progress my team made this year.

Now to go figure out how to improve it even more next year...

You played a great game and had me really worried - especially with that INT midway through the 2nd Qtr. What a shame that you managed to drive it down to my 17 and then fumbled it away. It wasn't until my final TD well into the 4th that I began to feel more confident.
Anyway you have had a great season. It looks like you have (re)built your team well.

It was a disappointing last game of the season for me as we got beat so badly at home, especially after winning the away fixture.

You beat me in the 9 previous games and I'm very happy I could break that streak . I did make some adjustments for the last game and I'm glad it worked out well. And you get to play the Gators in the wildcard game which wouldn't have happened if you had won .

Well done. You played a good game and your team has really come on this season. I wasn't complaining about losing just expressing my disappointment.

This has been a frustrating season for me, losing half of my team in the off-season. Still having said that I have managed to remain competitive. It's just that I had hoped for more.

If I beat the Gators then my 'reward' is to play away to Burnaby although you get SAS against whom you have lost twice this season. So not great for you either - although at least you get to face a bot first so are guaranteed another game.

We *could* even end up meeting again in the conference championship.

Even losing half of your team you managed to built a strong team and compete for the divisional championship until the last regular season game. To be honest I secretly hoped you wouldn't be so strong this season, but what you achieved is pretty amazing .
Well, if you beat the Gators, you'll face Burnaby who lost against the Gators. I suppose it'll be close game.
I beat SAS twice last season and lost twice this season. Maybe I'll be more lucky 3rd time this season.
Our division has 3 of the 4 best teams of the conference, so it wouldn't be much of the surprise if 2 of them would make it into the conference finals.

Thanks. In fact the loss of half my team had me so worried because of having to face you and SAS in particular. I was fortunate in having enough money to buy players but there were not always the players that I really wanted. Still I've managed to work with what I got and having bedded them in for a season then this is my squad going forwards. I can make a few tweaks as I go.

We have a really tough division but I think our strength is shown by the fact that we took both wild card places. Who will make the conference game is anybody's guess. I think the 4 teams remaining are the four strongest. So maybe it's just a coin toss!

CAPTAIN JINKS OF THE HORSE MARINES
Jon English

I'm Captain Jinks of the Horse Marines
I feed my horse on corn and beans,
And sport young ladies in their teens
Tho' a Captain in the Army.
I teach the ladies how to dance
How to dance, how to dance
I teach the ladies how to dance
For I'm the pet of the Army

cho: I'm Captain Jinks of the Horse Marines
I feed my horse on corn and beans,
And often live beyond my means
Tho' a Captain in the Army.

I joined the Corps when twenty-one
Of course I thought it capital fun
When the enemy comes, of course I run
For I'm not cut out for the Army.
When I left home, mamma she cried
Mamma she cried, mamma she cried,
When I left home, mamma she cried,
"He's not cut out for the Army."

The first time I went out for drill
The bugler sounding made me ill
Of the battlefield I'd had my fill
For I'm not cut out for the Army,
The officers, they all did shout
They all did shout, they all did shout,
The officers, they all did shout,
"Why, kick him out of the Army!"

Yeah, that first half had me feeling like I had a good shot to take the win, but that fumble really cost me big time. It was never out of reach until that final touchdown you scored in the later part of the 4th, so I don't feel like I failed per say, but it definitely was a game I could have won.

Thanks mate, I have put in a lot of effort into this season to bring my team up to the highest level of competitiveness I can get, and I feel like aside from a few minor miscues, I succeeded in doing what I set out to do.
Now just to ensure that next season is another step forward by finally winning a playoff game

Also, I am debating on starting a thread dedicated to tracking division winners, playoff winners, and some general team vs team stats. It wouldn't be super in depth going back to the beginning of RZA, but I was thinking of tracking Monarchs 1.1 starting at Season 30, since it is an even number and I won't have to dig back too far. I could potentially start at season 20, but any farther back and a lot of teams are either no longer active or were replaced

so both #1 seats to play #2 seats. if you think about the close finish in my division and the AC East, this is quite strange.
But OK, I will not complain.

My pick here is, my team will face SAS in the Bowl.
