Good luck, today fumbl3! I'm sure the Torino Black Bulls have this game well in hand. We just aren't ready to compete with you guys, but I'm hoping we at least keep it close enough to be worth watching.

Edit: oof not even close

Hey y'all, Pete started a pick em game on espn. Would be a fun way to discuss real life football when comparing picks. RZA prizes too!

Like always very lazy Galaxy forum

4 teams 9-0 so far, after saturday there will be at least one less.

Me personally finally got my team salary bit lower so I can take a breath and not go like -50 mil

Hopefully one or more supercup PO games and one or more league PO games will make this season finance look somewhat good

How was your season so far?

Hi Dumbarajko,
our conference seems the most contested ..
in next season Bulls, Elephants or Consumers will play in Elite .. "the games are open" (italian expression).
my financial situation is now under control; it was very long and difficult to recover from near bankruptcy.

I believe that the numerous bots in the league every season (and therefore the lack of VITALITY in the forum) are due to the fact that the teams promoted in galaxi 1 are too weak and not very competitive: many managers leave because they don't have fun, they don't win immediately.
(it's my idea) if g2 were tougher they would certainly quit before reaching g1, while those who would arrive in division 1 would be a "long term player ready", because he had PATIENCE. why not generate an increasing difficulty of bots from division (n + 1) to division (n)? the game is good enough to try to dive into.

I always lost against Pete in the regular season; history tells I beat him when it counts!

I see no reason why this should change

I think we can nab a playoff spot this season. We are also 8-0 in our Supercup league, so fingers crossed we stay the course and get into the playoffs there as well.

Our first 5 seasons have developed this way:

- Build up the players that are on the team
- Add players that are similarly built up on skills, and replace weakest players with those
- Focus on bringing in talented youth for the future
- Develop playbooks and depth charts
- Save money

Tool is in a new phase starting late last season, and still spending money like crazy through this season. We know what we want for each position. 50 speed for all receivers and corners, genius linebackers, a little bit of everything in our linemen, etc. I feel like these players are the best undeveloped youth players I can find on the TM. And even now, some that I bought last season aren't as good as I thought at first and may find themselves replaced before they ever get developed. Like Edwin Alferink for example. 49 STR, 50 TW. I thought he would be an awesome DL. But his intelligence is only 33.6, and I believe I can get someone similar, but smarter. And intelligence does matter for defensive linemen. It is a factor.

Also, the 20 year old only has 1.5* experience. I can improve on that with others I see coming through the TM for sure. Just need to weigh all the factors before deciding.

My plan (for now) is to run a test: Take a full squad of these wunderkinds and train them to a specified limit. With the exception of a few specific players (one QB, one RB, one WR, etc), I'm going to max everyone else out at 30k salary.

Then I'm going to closely watch how high I can get our overall rating percentage. A beautiful goal would be to hit 80% while total salary remains under 3 million. This idea was born here. In this conversation.

I feel a little sheepish that I'm basically trying to put together "the best team money can buy." Doesn't seem very creative. But the money spent is just off the top. If I put this team together, and keep wages where I want, it will be 10+ seasons of NOT spending money to form the best team. In other words, yes, I'm spending millions to get these players, but I won't be spending 5 or 6 million a week to sustain the team. I think this would be an important, alternative approach teams could take to avoid bankruptcy, and could stir up the TM a little more for those who put talented youth up for sale.

This is just how I'm playing the game at the moment, and I'm having a lot of fun. Galaxy is very forgiving to teams who want to overhaul their rosters all season long. Tool still has 330+million, so we aren't risking anything by splurging on the market for awhile. Will be interesting for me to see what our rating hits a couple seasons from now, and where our bank sits by the time these kids retire.
