If we absolutely must use ELO in game mechanics then I support the suggestion.
I would prefer to keep ELO as it is - a historical record of achievement - but tie the impact on morale of winning and losing to a league Power Ranking which resets every season. |

Reseting every season is a bit too much... I like the 3 seasons suggestion as it seems a bit more realistic about the current performance.
I will throw another raw idea: there would be a way to use the overall rate (that one shown on the the team overview page or on the Top 100 rated teams) to perform the morale loss calculations? |

Let's try to keep this on track. The current ELO is too long. It bears no resemblance to what the team is today. So I propose that we don't get into arguments about 1yr, 3yrs, 5 yrs otherwise Pete will see disagreements and never change it.Why not just reduce it to 3 years? We could even rename it to something like Team Power.
Then this would even allow us to keep the current ELO to be used for whatever needed e.g. All time records etc |

When ELO was implemented Pete said he wanted it to reflect the entire career of a manager, if Pete hasn't changed his mind there's no point in discussing this any further so what we need here is to hear what Pete's thoughts are on putting a time limit on ELO. If he agrees that a time limit would be a good idea then we can discuss what the limit should be exactly.

I would keep ELO as it is.
But I support the idea to change the moral calculations. I think it would be more reasonable to use a combination of team strength difference and the results of the last 10 competive games of both teams to determine the factor instead of using the ELO difference. |

I like this one, but I will add a factor to weight the results of the last 10 competive games. You are plaing in Elite and I in league 1 My 10-0 record should have a different impact compared to your record.... Last edited on 2021-01-08 12:22:31 by PJRAVENS |

If both teams have the same record, there is will an impact already by the team strength difference. If that is also the same... it should be the same logic as if two teams play with identical ELO at the moment. My idea was just not to count only fully on the strength difference. There should be a different impact for 80% Elite team with 8-2 record playing an 65% D1 with 8-2 compared to a 80% Elite team with 2-8 record playing the same D1 team. |

But I think we should open another sugestion topic for this one. This is not an ELO change discussion anymore... |
