I fully agree with the SoS issue... I will be incorporating opponent's team's power ranking as well as w/l record to determine the SoS next season. Also will increase the weight of a team's W/L record in the score formula. I'm hoping just doing that will make this more accurate.
As far as favoring pass over rush, this is not true. It simply looks at everyones pass and rush yards and ranks them among the league teams. This doesn't allow for any favoring to occur but it does reward more balanced teams. However, the weight of this overall rank is weighted very low so any "favoring" has an insignificant impact in their overall score. I hope that clears things up. Week 17 I'll preview the formulas and we can see how it works out. Rufio13 wrote:

Week 16 Power Rankings are released!
Monarchs 1 - Week 16 Power Rankings Really questioning the accuracy of the current score formula's weights. Looking forward to changing that next season. Highlights: -Leopards (#1) still at the top after a nice win vs the Knights (#4 - previously #2) -A lot more movement this time in the top 10 as 5 teams moved up and 4 teams moved down this week. Week 17 Power Rankings are released!
Monarchs 1 - Week 17 Power Rankings I went ahead and changed the score formula weights as it will be next season. My summary below is using these rankings. I also did a week 17 report with the old weights so we can see the difference, that is why there are 2 tabs. "Week 17 NEW FORMULA" has the new weights. Next season I'll also introduce a new SoS system which I'm excited about but I think this looks pretty accurate already! I'm also going to notate the team's playoff status as well... Highlights: -Leopards (#1) and Kraken (#2) were both undefeated this season, congrats! I'm glad to see Kraken got the respect from the numbers that they deserve! -Marauders (#8) get some respect and enter the top 10 while the Oilers (#11) and Hawks (#12) fall out. |
