I would love to be in the NC North when I move up next season. Looks like a tough division but it was the division I owned back in the day. lol. 5 division titles and 6 second places. Won at least 13 games each season.

Next season I am hoping to not lose 13 games lol.

Recap Divisional Round

Obviously I don't know what I'm doing lol. I didn't pick a single game correctly.

SF 33 Miami 0

I was surprised by this result. I dominated the first game this year vs Miami but this game the domination was even more severe. I think the defense Miami uses is the worst matchup for the offense I run. If they would have changed their defense the game might have turned out differently. I controlled the clock for 65% of the time.

St. Pauli 23 Red Bull 3

Another smackdown game. St. Pauli dominated 45-10 in the first matchup and continued dominating this one too. It seems they fixed whatever was ailing them the last few games.

Blackmanes 37 Budapest 31

This was an overtime thriller! Despite Blackmanes getting handled in the first game they took care of business here. This was a clean (no turnovers) and balanced game throughout.

Turigtians 30 Vikings 10

Not nearly the thriller that their first game (Turigtians 19 Vikings 13) was. Instead it was a dominating performance by Turigtians.

All in all only one game was remotely close and it was a good one.

Review

I was 3-1 on my picks. Blackmanes took advantage of 4 interceptions by Cheshire to handle them easily. The rest of the games went how most would have predicted. Not much commentary on these blowouts. Although Mirmidones did hang with St. Pauli and was within 1 score in the 4th quarter. After the initial 3-0 lead Mirmidones did not have another lead throughout the game.

These games take place on Christmas day so who will get a present and who will get coal? lol

Miami @ SF

Although I did dominate Miami in the first matchup I don't think it will go that way this time. I have taken a major hit in TC. That darn Flims sale had me buying and me selling to make room. My TC is in the low 70's and sure to play a role in this game. My team ratings are much improved though. I think I traded postseason success this season for better team next season. If I win it will be a Christmas miracle. I am picking Miami to win this game.

St. Pauli @ Red Bull

In their matchup earlier in the season St. Pauli took Red Bull down with a score of 45-10. At that time St. Pauli was rolling. However the last several games St. Pauli just hasn't been right. Not sure as to why. Despite the previous result I am picking Red Bull to win this.

Blackmanes @ Budapest

A few games ago Budapest beat Blackmanes by 20 points. I don't expect this matchup to end that differently, although Blackmanes has surprised me recently.

Vikings @ Turigtians

Turigtians won 19-13 in a thriller earlier in the season. This will be a great game as both teams are defensive teams that run the ball. This is a coin flip at best.

still false modesty

Conference Championship Preview

Blackmanes @ St. Pauli

These two teams obviously know each other well considering they played in the same division and finished 1st and 2nd. In the first matchup St. Pauli won 35 to 30. It was a close game throughout where Blackmanes were consistently within 1 score. The second game St. Pauli inexplicably set their game match to the relaxed setting and were promptly waxed by Blackmanes 16-32. I still expect this game to be close. I think it will come down to how many interceptions St. Pauli throws. St. Pauli has thrown 59 interceptions this season, them most of any team. In fact only 3 teams have more than 59 touchdowns much less interceptions this season. St. Pauli is one of them with 78 touchdowns thrown. This is the classic passing offense team vs the rushing offense team. Which defense will hold up? Blackmanes defense seems a little stronger.

in the end all 4 of us will see each other again in D1 next season!

Turigtians @ SF

I honestly have no clue how this turns out. I would love to say I will win but Turigtians is solid throughout. They were a running team all season (consistently top 3). I did notice the last several games they have been a passing team with little running. They can do both and are so good can decide which they want to do. They have a fantastic defense. I also boast a good defense and a pretty good running team but I am also balanced. Both teams have balanced offenses and great defenses. I just hope the game lives up to the hype in my head lol.

I wouldn't say false modesty rather it is I don't want to sound arrogant and cocky. lol. I don't want to make the assumption that I am better than I am is all.

Conference Championship Game Reviews

Turigtians 37 SF 16

Turnovers. All season my main QB had thrown a total of 6 interceptions and in this game he threw 3. The other QB threw another interception in this game to bring the total to 4. The one that I feel hurt the most was on the Turigtians 12 yard line when the game was a one a score game. After that it was never close anymore. Nice work Turigtians! I'll be looking over this one to see what defenses you employed to get those picks. Good luck in the Championship game!

St. Pauli 30 Blackmanes 23

This game was never out of hand but Blackmanes did not have the lead at a single point. Blackmanes kept pulling to within a score or even a tie but just couldn't get over the hump. The deciding point might be in the 3rd quarter. The Blackmanes had a 7 play 35 yard drive that started from their own 17. They were down only 7 points (13-20) and seemed to have momentum. On the St. Pauli 48 yard line the Blackmanes fumbled and it was returned for a 52 yard touchdown. The score was then 13-27. It was a close game much like the first matchup. I'm sure they will both get a chance next season in D1 to continue these classic matches. lol

Championship Preview

So this is a rematch from earlier in the season when Turigtians lost their only league game of the season to this St. Pauli team with a score of 23-24. in that game St. Pauli threw 6 interceptions and still won the game. That is insanity. St. Pauli doubled Turigitans in first downs and time of possession. The only thing that kept Turigtians in the game was the interceptions. A little bit later these teams played a friendly where St. Pauli won 38-36. We can't see what happened in those friendly games. Based on the scores of both games I would say get out the popcorn and watch this one. Will the 3rd time be the charm? Will Turigitans figure it out and over come their nemesis? Or will St. Pauli continue to own Turigtians?
