I have given a Suggestion on forum recently about making it possible to undo putting a player on TM under some criteria. For example:

1. It won't be possible to remove a player after a bid was already made.

2. It should not be possible to remove a player with less than 24 hours left and/or before the first 24 hours on the TM.

3. To avoid abusing of this tool a financial penalty may apply.

4. Morale and Team Chemistry hits apply as usual.

I would like some opinions on it. Is it a plausible idea? Too much effort for nothing?

With the penalties you suggest it would certainly not be done for 'fun'.
Such an option would be seldom used but when a manager realizes their 'mistake' they'd be awfully glad the option was there.

As long as the morale/TC penalty is there, and a player cannot be removed that has been bid on, I don't see any reason why the other two penalties/restrictions would need to be in place. I don't see any benefit to withdrawing a player from the TM early if you suffer the normal penalty as you would be allowing them to expire.

The time restriction idea is to avoid database issues. I thought about limit situations where someone withdraw a player on the last second, for example. Maybe Pete could tell if it is really necessary to protect from bugs.

I agree the financial penalty may be too much.

I've always felt that if a player didn't sell he shouldn't really be hit with TC penalty cuz he still knows the team and coaching etc and isn't new to the team.

Only Morale penalty makes sense.

Maybe the TC penalty is there because he knows his team doesn't want him and now nobody else wants him either.

I like the suggestion as it is, it makes sense, however,

how often will it be used?
and
do we really want that the very limited resource available for improving this game to be invested in a feature that is very seldom used?

If it doesn't take much for Pete to do this then I don't see a downside regardless of how often it is used. It isn't a bad idea.

Is this a big problem? I've been playing for some time and can't remember ever having this problem.

This idea once again put pressure of decisions away from manager.

If you are a manager then you should take credit for your good moves, but also be ready to take consequences for your mistakes.

Better think twice before you put someone on TL then have an option to change your decision.

Because decision is decision, good or bad.
