Maybe this is a bug. I was scouting my next opponent, and found this play in the second quarter:
"9:04 Hamilton Alvim (P) punts the ball from opp 3 for -2, out of bounds." And as one would expect, the other team took over on their own 5 Anyone see something like this before? |

Just assumption: Normally you punt from say your own 40 yard line as line of scrimmage. Snap say 10 yards back, so the kick from your own 30, then a calcuaton based on skills + a random factor. Say 60 yards kick, so effective from los 50 yards, then you have a line like 'punts the ball from own 40 for 50 yards' Now you do that again on opponents 30 yard line and you need some sort of 'what do I do at the endzone and how do I simulate coffin corner punts (aiming for the corners between 5 yard line and goal line for a non returnable punt near the endszone)' So you add some code based on skills like INT, PUN, VIS and random stuff for a touchback and coffin corner and you get lines like 'punts the ball from opp 30 for 25 yards out of bounds' And now you kick from opp 3! The algorithm does run through and the random stuff kicks in and you get your original line, aimed for the coffin corner. My 2 cents. |

As long as you stare them straight in the eyes while you do it. Assert dominance. Malones did it almost the same in the season 45 championship and now he's in cheese mode. |
