A lot of heavyweight-fights today on the way to the playoffs:
The ChosenOnes (11–1) go to the London Silverbacks (10–2), battling for Seed 1 in the AC. The Glastonbury Grail Knights and the Nainamo Bluebacks, both 9–3, battle for second place in the AC South behind the ChosenOnes Two veteran managers meet when Melittlemenon thepitchhitchin (8–4) visit the Green Mark Packers (10–2), both leading their respective divisions. vamosahi (11–1) welcomes division-rival Oxford Bulls (10–2) for the first meeting this season. And VenoM (7–5), leading the NC North, go to SP Nightstorms (9–3), second in the NC South, to try and keep the lead in the division. Hot on their heels are the Owls 85s (6–6) who visit the Coyotes (3–9). |

Third to last game-day of S50. A lot of games with Playoff-Contenders playing Rookie Managers. But with the ChosenOnes being the only one who definitely secured a playoff-spot, there are a few games with implications:
Morgantown Mad Dogs @ Lakfakalle Eagles The Mad Dogs must win this second encounter with the Eagles to feel comfortable in their devision for the remainder of the season, being only one game in front of the 2nd Chronicles 7:14. The Eagles may be already out of the playoff-mix, but they won 3 out of the last 4 games, so it won't be easy. SP Nightstorms @ 2nd Chronicles 7:14 The second-place 2nd Chronicles need to win to put pressure on the Mad Dogs in their own division and to keep playing for the 6 seed, being 8–5 like the Alprausch Alpakas in the AC North and the Berlin Iron Tigers in the AC West. Both of the latter play Rookie Managers, though, and the SP Nightstorms fight for a playoff spot themselves, having lost to VenoM last Tuesday. Nanaimo Bluebacks @ VenoM Speaking of VenoM: They can be lay back and prepare for the playoffs since their strongest contender in the NC North, Owls 85s, unfortunately turned to bot just this week. Maybe the Bluebacks from Nanaimo are lucky to catch them napping, because they need to win to get into the mix in the AC again. Fighting Frankonian @ Melittlemenon thepitchhitchin AC West-leader Melittlemen get a visit from the Frankonian, and as the manager already hinted in this very thread, they seem to have his difficulties with teams from the lands where they speak german. It’s getting hot in the league. Still only 4 spots in the playoffs are already taken, with Amma’s Angels from the NC South being the only one that definitely won their division. The ChosenOnes in the AC South, the London Silverbacks in the AC North, vamosahi in the NC East, VenoM in the NC North and the Green Mark Packers in the NC West need but one win today to do the same. They all play opponents below .500, though, so they should be qualified after the games are played.
Intriguing are the situations in the AC West, the AC East and the hunt for the 5- and 6-seed in both conferences, but especially in the AC. And these are the games to watch out for: 2nd Chronicles 7:14 @ Morgantown Mad Dogs The Mad Dogs sit atop the AC East with a record of 10–4. But the visiting division-opponent 2nd Chronicles 7:14 are just one game behind them (9–5) and have a chance to equalize the record with a win. And they must if they want remain in the hunt to advance to the playoffs. Alprausch Alpakas @ Nanaimo Bluebacks The Alpakas are the second team in the AC that’s 9–5 and needs a win today to keep the chance for the playoffs. They go to the Nanaimo Bluebacks who just on Saturday climbed atop the 6th seed with record of 10–4. They should stay there, having the best point differential of all the candidates for seed 6, but a win in this game would make them a playoffs participant for the second season in a row. HAMBURG SEA LIONS @ Berlin Iron Tigers Another from the AC with a record of 9–5, the Iron Tigers welcome the SEA LIONS to the Compound in Berlin. The situation in the AC West is exciting, as Melittlemenon thepitchhitchin sit atop the division with, too, a record of 9–5, playing a new team, the Mad UA Angels, this week. So the Iron Tigers need to win this game to force a final regular season game to decide the division-winner on Saturday. The visiting SEA LIONS (10–4), though, have the chance to ensure the participation in the playoffs for the first time ever. So it will be a difficult task for both opponents. SP Nightstorms @ Steenies Sailors Both team in this division-match-up from the NC South have a record of 9–5. Which means whoever wins keeps the hopes of participating in the playoffs this season alive… as long as the SEA LIONS do not win against the Iron Tigers. Good luck to everyone  |

I always enjoy reading your previews as well. Something that I'd thought about doing, but never get around to it.
So after my team blew a 15 point lead with less than 8 minutes left in the game ( 1 interception, 1 lost fumble), I'm now tied with chronicles for the division title. I do have a 25 point differential advantage, but it will come down to the last game of the season. One team goes to the playoffs, the other goes home. |

You win and Melittlemen loses you get Seed 3 2. You win and Melittlemen wins OR 3. You lose and Chronicles lose and Melittlemen wins for Seed 4 4. You lose and Chronicles win -> you miss the playoffs. It's not that complicated and the goal is Seed 6, but I, too, have a game I have to win to be in. I may lose and get in, but then the Nightstorms would have to lose, too... and although they play Amma's Angels it might happen, but I wouldn't like to bet on it. I have to play Tovari, though... and we haven't won against them... like... ever

True, i missed the point that i could get the #3 seed if melittlemen lose against a tough tigers team.
Also, another point. If i win a close game and chronicles blows out the eagles, i also miss the playoffs. My offense self destructs at times, so this is possible. You're in a tough spot. With my past experience with Ammas Angels both this season and with my previous team i had some seasons ago, I'd say he wins his game and you get in. But it's certainly not a guarantee. Good luck, we'll see what happens soon. |

And here it is: Week 17 of the celebratory Season 50 is upon us, and the playoffs will be set after today. What a season it has been so far, and at least for the SEA LIONS it will always be fondly remembered for what we accomplished. Here’s an overview of the current playoffs scenario, leading into todays games: In the NC, all the Divisions already have a winner. Between Vamosahi (14–1, East), Amma’s Angels (14–1, South) and Green Mark Packers (13–2, West) the seeding 1–3 will be determined today, VenoM (9–6, North) will be Seed 4 in the postseason. The Oxford Bulls from the NC East are already locked for the playoffs and will most likely keep Seed 5. The battle for the last spot will be decided between the SP Nightstorms (SPN, 10–5) in the South and the HAMBURG SEA LIONS (HSL, 11–4) in the West: HSL – needs to win (vs. Tovari) OR lose and SPN (vs. Amma’s Angels) lose SPN – needs to win AND HSL to lose In the AC it’s a lot more open, with only 3 of the 6 spots already taken. The ChosenOnes (14–1, South) have Seed 1, the London Silverbacks (12–3, North) have Seed 2. Seed 5 will most likely be the Glastonbury Grail Knights (12–3, South). The seeds 3, 4 and 6 will be decided between the Morgantown Mad Dogs (MMD, 10–5, East), the 2nd Chronicles 7:14 (OFX, 10–5, East), Melittlemenon thepitchhitchin (MLM, 10–5, West) and the Nanaimo Bluebacks (NBB, 11–4, South): MMD – win vs. RAI and MLM lose for Seed 3, win and MLM win OR lose and OFX lose and MLM win for Seed 4, lose and OFX win for Seed 7 aka „no playoffs“ OFX – win vs. ALA and MMD lose and MLM win for Seed 4 OR win and MMD lose and MLM lose for Seed 3, lose and keep Seed 7 MLM – win vs. BIT for Seed 3, lose and MMD or OFX win for Seed 4 NBB – win vs. C1s and GGK lose for Seed 5, win OR lose and GGK win for Seed 6 It will be an exciting game day.
