The player in question for me is: Bradley Kay Player ID - 101046057

His name was Ivan Shveysov when I drafted him as pick 94 in the third round. I changed his nationality before I took a look at his stats. I had about 11 players in the 3rd round I would have settled for. The rest did not fit within my parameters for any roster position. This guy was a player I wanted to pass on as all players I would have liked were already taken when my turn came around. I cancelled his contract later the same same day that he was drafted and have the following entry in my ledger:

2022-12-16 11:29:44 -93,995 Player contract cancelled

I don't know what my specific balance was at the time of the penalty, but the transaction shows in my ledger with a time stamp, so hopefully that is enough for you to go off of. Note that I did cut a player from my YA sometime afterwards on the same day, but those are the only moves I made that day.

Hope this helps.

I was on the red when trying to cut one of my draftees for the first time (that one with the $ 0 penalty message). I am not sure if I was back into the positive when trying for the second time.

There is no contract killing fee while you are in the red. It is not related to draftees.

Sorry for bringing this topic back. I have just realized that the first season from draftees is kind of "free". I simply forgot that the Sponsors that we sign at the beginning of the season pay a good amount of money for each drafted player. For example, Typhoon Cruise Lines paid my team $ 97,912 for each drafted player which is enough to pay a $ 4,080 weekly-wage player for a season (only one of my draftees have higher wages than this). So imho there is no valid reason to let a free contract termination in this case.

Good point. I also missed that!
