Hello Everyone. I'm new to the game and can someone please advise my player wages please and if there is a certain formula or something for negotiating contracts.

I've looked in the manual and Forums but I'm not making any sense of it.

A good start is for 2 to 3 seasons contracts at season end negotiations with 85% of the demand (not was later eventually is written in the reply).

Check my guide also.

I do at the end of season, on the last training day before rollover
86% of demand rounded up +1
Franchise contracts (4&5 seasons) are more, 125% iirc.

All I've seen for working out wages is 2 highest skills average and so on. It doesn't take into account the 4 contract Lengths as over noticed on the demo negotiation. Using the profile for that i worked it out at 48k when the lowest wage was like 22,000.

Is there not a simpler way of working it out?

Welcome to RZA.

May I ask what you would expect from such an information? Are you asking for exact Math?

Thank you. I just want to make sure I'm not going to be massively overpaying on wages when time comes to turn on the HR department

When you come to negotiate wages for a player a box appears for the negotiation.
In this box is a value for wages based on skills and also wages current.
You need to multiply the wages based on skills by 85/86% if end of season negotiation. Do not know values for begining of season negotiations.

You can get an idea on the wages based on skills on every player card if you s e l e c t anything other than the details page i.e season stats, career stats or stats by season. On these pages is an estimated value for wages this is same as wages based on skills this is what needs multiplying by 85/86% for his HR contract.
This is only for, this and another and this + 2 seasons contract length
+3 and +4 are franchise contracts and will cost more 125%???

As a new player, there's a lot more pressing issues than figuring out how to calculate contracts. For example, at this point, you still have to learn what players are good vs which ones are going to get cut. I would not make this a priority until maybe your second or even third season in this game and just run with the nonHR set up

What the others said, and the demo negotiation willo provide a feeling for what is happening. I would not go with HR at all, if I was you. At least not for the moment.

Thank you everyone. I'll stay on the current default wage setup for a couple of seasons.

I have however managed to figure the following out on the demo contract negotiation window. Would I be correct in assuming it's the same percentage for all player negotiations?

RZA Contracts

Skills. 20443
+1 / 21658 / 106%
+2 / 25450 / 121%
+3 / 30450 / 146%
+4 / 36450 / 176%
