Hillbilly Highlights: Olivos Borrachos vs. Pizti Beltzak
Written by: Cletus McCoy
Well, howdy there partner! Y’all ain't gonna believe the hootin’ and hollerin’ that went on down at the Pizti Beltzak ranch last night as the Olivos Borrachos took 'em right to the cleaners with a final score of 43 to 37 in the good ol’ overtime round. This game was hotter than a chili cook-off in July, lemme tell ya!
It all kicked off with Olivos Borrachos winning the coin toss, and it weren’t long before they were showin’ off their skills. The first quarter started out slow, but just after a few minutes, their quarterback Marcus Boyd got the first touchdown with some real slick movin’ on the field. They didn’t waste no time, kickin’ the extra point and settlin’ that score at 7 to zip.
But hold yer horses, it didn’t take long for the Pizti Beltzak fellas to come back with their own touchdowns, runnin’ and passin’ like they were born to do it! Hee-haw! They tied it up with a 10-yard field goal and then snatched that lead with another touchdown, makin’ the score 13 to 10. But Olivos Borrachos weren’t ‘bout to back down. Nope, they bucked up and took back the reins by the end of the second quarter, takin’ the lead again with some powerful runs and crafty plays.
Now, I gotta say, this game had its fair share of fumbles and interceptions that would make a city slicker’s head spin! Olivos Borrachos running back Killian Tate, bless his heart, kept bein’ tackled like a tumbleweed in the wind, but he pushed through like a tank. In one wild moment, ol’ Boyd tried passin’ but got intercepted by Pizti Beltzak which caused a ruckus and a touchdown down the road! The score was tied again, 20 to 24, in a barnburner of a match by the third quarter.
As the game wore on, we saw more of them turnovers than we could count on one hand. Interceptions galore! Pizti Beltzak tried snatchin' the game back, but Olivos Borrachos pulled some fancy moves to score a touchdown that outdid a moonshine jigger!
In the end, as the sun set behind the bleachers, Olivos Borrachos charged ahead in overtime with their horses running wild and scored yet another touchdown, sealing their fate and making the final score a mighty ol’ 43 to 37. Ain’t that somethin’? Well, that’s all from the field, folks! Y’all best grab a cold drink and recount this wild ride over some good BBQ. See ya’ll next game yah hear!
