TBH, the number one reason to blame somebody is the behavior of FIFA itself. I was listening to a longer interview yesterday, with Jens Weinreich. He is a German journalist with quite good knowledge about sport and soccer, especially FIFA and UEFA. The major problem according to him is that FIFA is a monopol of soccer by international law, with their own justice and rules, by international law. The construct is almost untouchable. I can understand why this causes corruption and decisions people do not support, and I understand those who call for boycott.
The major problem is not Qatar in my opinion, even it seems to be governed by a bunch of suckers. Qatar is just the peek of the FIFA corruption pyramid. Lets focus on FIFA first Last edited on 2022-11-22 23:28:56 by pete |

The Shell example is 27 years old. The world is not the same anymore. Internet did not even exist by then. At this time, a boycott call was exceptional. Today, you have a new one every week.
Clearly I agree with ptdoc. Only the companies have the power to make major changes with a boycott strategy. |

Hard to believe, it's older than me! Actually, one of the first nodes was in Boelter Hall at UCLA - - where I failed a number of math and engineering classes. :-( Steve SD Blitz |
