Having been a RZA manager since Season 45 I have some thoughts.
First I'd like to address is the Fur Trappers slow start in league play. There is no panic here, we've lost our first two games (One in OT against a very fine Ukie team & the other by a bone headed late 4th quarter interception thrown by my very seasoned QB). We will soldier on confident we'll be in the playoff hunt at seasons end. Changes to the game. It's impossible to please every manager, For me it makes no difference. League Commissioner Pete has made a change weather on the game side or on the management side and so be it. I really enjoy the game/coaching side of the RZA, the management/stadium side is more of an afterthought. For Pete to be so interested in this game of American Football to take time & money to create these two (RZA & RZC) fantastic games/simulations just so he could play is awesome. Pete if I still coached I'd try to recruit you onto my staff. You Sir are a Football man Concerning Realism. I have seen many post in the past saying this change or that would add more realism. For me RZA is as real as we make it. If your going for it on 4th & 7 in your own territory without it being desperation time your playing a computer game. A team for several seasons ran 1 play & only 1 play & every play a pass, He found some success but his 'Realism Meter' was at 0. Inside 2 minutes nursing a 2 point lead & your still throwing the ball around you might be playing just a computer game. I remember the Eagles Defensive coordinator Buddy Ryan attacking & punching the O coordinator because of this very reason. For me in my minds eye I am on the side line & I see the teams. I have installed the playbooks (Offensive & Defensive coordinators), I have tried to put my players in their most effective positions, I always check the weather before kickoff & let the chips fall where they may. It's as 'real' as we want it to be. Training. The recent changes on the training page doesn't affect me so I have no opinion. I start at the top of my roster & do each individual player one at a time. Suggestions (noticed these are NOT on the suggestion page). Adding returns on long field goals Adding the effects of wind & weather into the game Adding a 'Blitz Killer' trait for QB's Add a Hard Cap Add ever increasing penalties for 'Play Abuse' I do wish all the managers the best of luck Last edited on 2023-06-09 03:29:03 by 4 Aces |

Add a Hard Cap Cap ... on what? Your most welcome for the compliment Pete but really I was just saying a truth. I hesitate talking about the hard cap, The last I brought this subject up I barely escaped with my balls intact. In American baseball there is no salary cap so the bigger city teams are always in the playoffs, this is the reason why the Yankees have always been at the top. The NFL has a cap & a bottom 'must spend' cap for competitiveness. Since I first brought the idea up of a Clash like salary cap I have learned much. You explained that you've tried the cap idea before & it didn't work out very well & I'm good with that. I was thinking about the weather today & my Fur Trappers playing a friendly game against a Florida team. It was 54 (F) in Anchorage and we were playing in 87(F) heat & wondered to myself what effect that may have on my team. I'm pretty sure it would be an absolute coding nightmare to try to include weather. Commissioner Pete thanks for your time & effort & remember none of those things were on suggestion page. |

OK.
The salary cap is a very special topic to discuss. In my opinion, we have one in place already, because the overall amount of money a team can make out of the game is kind of equal for all teams, and limited. You cannot bring any money in here from outside. The only thing you could make a fortune on top is the transfermarket. This is the main reason why I never felt pushed to introduce another, hard salary cap - like we have one in RZC. And yes, there is the argument of teams saving huge money over seasons to prepare a strike where they have more money available. But after all, this is kind of a management thing as well, right? For the weather: i have seen this in other games like -TOG-, and I found the implemenation always very strange. Is this a random "forecast"? if so, we add just another random factor to the equation. If not, a manager in Alaska would have a permanent disadvantage over one in a more dry region, as example. The whole weather thing, to me just sounds like a lot of coding with no true outcome. Yes, you might see the outcome different. |

Commissioner I am in no way suggesting any changes whatever to your fine work here & in the Clash. I thoroughly enjoy both games, I am not a guy looking for greener grass so I have no idea what other on line football games may be. Haven't joined or played them. I'm a football guy & I appreciate the fact the games focus is more the teams & games & less on the fluff. I have no idea what it takes to fabricate a successful game on line especially one as complicated as American football (11 individuals trying to work in unison every play).

I have learned the hard way, that there is a good portion of online gamers enjoying fluff. This is why it is so important to discuss such features in a honest way, and name fluff if soemthing is fluff.
