Exactly, and that does not include the late round stuff, where undrafted or late drafted become stars by luck or mojo or whatever or they fall from grace even faster.

I told my buddy that I did not understand the hype around Carson Wentz. I just did not think he would hold up physically in the NFL. I told my buddy that she should have interviewed that big kid from Mississippi State. He played lights out. That big kid ended up being Dak Prescott. I didn't even know his name that day. Say what you will about Dak's talent, but he is a successful starting QB in the NFL and likely will be for another 3 or 4 years at least. Wentz? ![]() Carson Wentz did play really good football in the season when the eagles won the superbowl and in the season after that, though. It's the mental aspect that seperates Prescott and Wentz, with Dak having the clear advantage in being humble and at the same time a great leader of men. Both can't be said about Wentz, sadly. But the reception of both these things will only develop over time, and that's what makes it incredibly tough to foresee how the prospects will turn out. And it can shift, if the players work the right way. Look what Jared Goff was able to do last season in Detroit, seven years after being drafted. And I'm incredibly curious if Baker Mayfield will come through in Tampa Bay ![]() |

Loved the opening game last night but I would being a Lions fan. Tremendous effort to hold on for a deserved tough win.
Not the same old Lions. |

It was a great game with a comeback story near the end and a defensive stand in the end. that closed the game. I've always liked Goff, still don't get why Rams traded him, but lucky for your Lions because they got a young QB for many years to come. |

Incredible to beat the Champs in their own stadium to open the season! They dominated the battle in the trenches, both O-line and D-line were exceptional. They had a winning attitude, believed they could win, and executed.
It's been a LONG time since I've see the Detroit Lions have swagger ![]() |

I always said that trading Goff for Stafford was a dumb idea.
On the real side, Stafford did get his by winning the SuperBowl but after that he was a shadow again. In the meantime Goff exploded this season and turned the Lions around and perhaps they will compete for a few more seasons as long everyone is healthy. So congrats to the Lions ![]() |

I'll be rooting for the Lions and Browns in the playoffs, two classic teams with rich history, on the rise.
I'm a big fan of both head coaches, especially Dan Campbell - hard-nosed player and same style as a coach. Just what the league needs right now, IMHO. |
