Only just seen this. He was a really nice bloke, liked his ale too much but not a "do you know who I am?" type of person. Many many years ago I bumped into him a few times around the Caledonian Road in London after Millwall games, and me and a few of my mates had a few beers/whiskies with him and some of his mates. A very engaging character who really enjoyed himself.
Fast forward a few years when I'd met my wife, we were in Pat Buckley's Bar in Cork and couldn't buy a drink in there because they knew I'd drank with him a few times and wouldn't take our money. Nice memories. Slainte. |
