To add here, I had no intention for insult.

'stupid' suits not right? Maybe unreasonable? Silly? Pointless? Absurd?

I respect every way the managers play the game, even sometimes I do not understand it. I saw teams, which do not make sense in my opinion, but which are still successfull in some ways. And there are managers who aim not for wins, not in the 1st place, but for other results, goals or accomplishements.
All fine.

In my head creating a new instance of a team, just because the current one reaches some sort of obstacles makes no sense.

But as said, do as you like.

Great, I can recycle my double post:

However, it's also important to understand that I don't want a 5000-line playbook, or analyze the last 30 games of my next opponent, or calculate in detail the optimal salary for each player on my roster.

What is considered "unreasonable, illogical, or stupid" for some may be different for others. If that weren't the case, humanity would have become extinct centuries ago.

Quim

I also have no 5000-line playbook and never analyse my opponent.
Stll, that has from my point of view nothing to do with the instance of the team.

I wish you the best in Elite and then you can still decide what to do or where to go.

Thanks Jack, we'll try to make things difficult for the Elite monster teams.

Have you ever considered how you would build your team from scratch now, with all your accumulated experience? Would you do the same? How many seasons would it take you to reach the top?...

To pick up where we left off, as Pete said, the Elite division was created for a small number of teams that had reached excellence and were starting to get "bored" of winning so much. Among them, the competition would be much more even and "fun". The problem I raise at the beginning of the thread was not foreseen (it was impossible to do so). But maybe something can be done about it later. That's all.

Beside the fact that many supporting things, like stadium, YA and so on can be build faster now with the media center income, I think I would likely dive deeper into the free agent market to build up a team based on my revolver strategy and then get the revolver loaded and running. That means, likely I would try to have a quite mixed team out of verterans and younger players and get my YA filled with promising players to pump out better-than-draft-players after a few season.

I think it takes still 2 to 3 seasons to be competitive and get into the playoffs, but of course that depends on the region.

I personally think Elite is beside 2 things quite perfect as it is.
1. Scheduling should be better, I think Peter is working on that. Right now the schedule is based on patterms, not as in NFL based on division and win percentage.
2. The promotion and relegation rule should be changed to 1 direct (Bowl winner swaps place with 4th place) and 1 relegation game (bowl loser plays 3rd place). That way the MUST-PLAY is a bit mitigated and Elite has more top teams, because I think many teams getting the promotion are not ready.

The financial aspect is not ideal, but supports the idea of a management game. It should not be an automatic cruise, once you did reach Elite, ther should be challanges and managing the finance is one.

I do not support the money distribution overall, but that is a different story.

This actually makes a lot of sense.

I thought the post was a little uncharacteristic of Jack. Here, in the United States at least, it's an insult that generally means the speaker has zero respect for the listener. Conversations lose value dramatically after the word is used here. I get it though. No offense taken.

Nice, I learned something new. Love it!

Not suggesting any relevance here, just talking about use and language.

I often had difficulty explaining the concept to my (young at the time) children that an action of a person could be described as stupid (in my meaning, having very obvious negative consequences) without the person being considered stupid (without intelligence).

Evidence suggests that I may have been describing concepts at a bit of a high level for 3 and 5 years old children

And now imagine you try to teach it to non-native speakers ...

If it helps: You're not alone with this

I have recently been told (again) by an outside professional that my style of explaining things can be very tough to understand for adults even, so I should not be all that mad if the kids are not able to grasp what I mean.

My love for long and convoluted sentences, deviating from the main thing to sprinkle in a little history and/or useful side information to come back to the main point 2–3 minutes later in the monologue is not for everyone, curiously

Who was this German poet who was "famous" for putting such long long sentences in his work? Cannot remember ...
