Season 58 has been extremely quiet in the Galaxy forum so we'll at least have 1
entry.
Season 58 Divisional Playoffs These aren't meant to be predictions but rather observations & comparisons. But first I must give the Devil Bats & the Triangles a shout out for stunning upset Wildcard wins. Leadhills & Tramandai are no easy outs but very solid teams. 'Any given game day' Bretzfeld Bandits (14-2) Vs Bopfingen Redskinz (14-2) The Bandits Offense averages 46.6 pts per game & the defense allows an average of 10 per game. The Redskinz O avg. is 49 per game & the D allowed 8.6 per game. The O vs D of each team gives an avg of 27.6 for the Bandits & a 29.5 for the Redskinz. The Bandits Overall rating is 75.3, a 77.4 for the Skinz. Bretzfelds Managers tactical talent rated 'Ok', they are about a 2:1 Pass offense. They spread the ball around amazing equal to ALL their receivers. They have a very good rushing average despite a less than stellar O-Line (the best rated O-Linemen is only 72.9 blocking success rate !). Their turnover ratio is 0.7 per game Bopfingens tactical talent rated 'Down'. The Skinz run at almost a 2:1 ratio using mainly 2 backs. The Redskins have a turnover rate of 1.3 pre game. Summary: Score averages-Skinz +1.9, Overall-Skins +2.1, Managers tactical talent-Bandits +1, Turnover ratio-Bandits +.6 Who is likely to win: Bandits 1.6, Skinz 4 = Skinz 2.4 This should be an outstanding close game. Dayton Triangles (10-6) Vs Free Agent Mascots (16-0) The Triangles offensive avg is 38.1 & they allow 16.6 per game. The Mascots O avg is 54.9 & allow 7.06. The O vs D avg for the Triangles is 22.58, for the Mascots it's 35.75. The Overalls are Triangles 68.3 & the Mascots 85.6 Triangles Managers tactical talent is 'Ok'. They lean to the run side of offense & have a poor offense line. Mascots tactical talent is rated as 'Average'. They are heavy pass at nearly a 5 pass to every 1 run but they have an high run average the few times they do run. They possess an excellent O-Line. Triangles turn over ratio is 1.88 per game & the Mascots an outstanding 0.37 turnovers per game. Summary: Score average: Mascotts-(a whopping)+13.17, Overall-Mascots +17.3, Managers tactical talent-Mascots +1 ,Turnover Ratio-Mascots +1.51. Who is likely to win: Triangles 0, Mascots 32.98 = Mascots in a walk 32.98 Chances are the Mascots will be the clock striking midnight for the Cinderella Triangles. Deimon Devil Bats (13-3) Vs Wrexham Exiles (15-1) The Devil Bats offensive and defensive averages are 44.1 & 9.68 while the Exiles come in at 52.3 & 7.18.The O vs D score averages are the Bats at 25.64 and the Exiles at 30.99. The Overall rating are as follows, the Devil Bats 67.3 & the Exiles 78.6. Managers tactical talent rating has the Devil Bats at 'Ok' and the Bats are lean run play callers. The Exiles tactical talent are at 'Poor' also being a lean run team with a very good O-Line. Turnover ratios has the Bats at a 1.3 per game & the Exiles at 1.1 a game. Summary: Score average-Exiles +5.35, Overall-Exiles +11.3, Managers tactical talent-Devil Bats +1, Turnovers-Exiles +0.1. Who is likely to win: Devil Bats 1, Exiles 16.75 = Exiles 15.75 Like the Triangles you can't imagine the Devil Bats slipping past the Exiles. Rockford River Rats (14-2) Vs Alaskan Fur Trappers (16-0) Offensive & defensive averages first, The River Rats O & D averages 47.8 & 11. The Fur Trappers O/D as follows 48.6 & 3.25. The O vs D numbers are: River Rats 25.5 & the Trappers 29.8. The River Rats have a 79.2 compared to the Trappers 80.8. Managers tactical talent ratings are as follows, for the Rats it's 'Ok. The Rats are a 2 to 1 passing team with a less than average O-Line. The Trappers come in with a 'superb' tactical talent rating. The Alaskans are a run heavy playbook, slightly under 2:1 working with an above average offensive line. Turnover ratios are the same with The Rats & the Trappers at .88 TO per game. Summary: Score avg-Trappers +4.3 Overall-Trappers+1.6 Managers tactical talent-Trappers +1 Turnover ratio-Tied Who is likely to win: Rats 0.5, Trappers 7.4 = Trappers 6.9 In the end these numbers are just stating the obvious & don't mean much. Just to add to the programme notes, here are the roster wage costs and average ages for each of the 8 teams (in ELO order): Mascots - AGE 25.6 PLAYER WAGES $3.7m COACHES $2.0m Bandits - AGE 25.1 PLAYER WAGES $5.5m COACHES $1.5m Exiles - AGE 24.0 PLAYER WAGES $4.1m COACHES $1.9m Trappers - AGE 25.7 PLAYER WAGES $6.9m COACHES $1.6m Rats AGE - 26.6 PLAYER WAGES $8.6m COACHES $1.2m Bats AGE - 23.8 PLAYER WAGES $6.0m COACHES $0m Skinz AGE - 26.0 PLAYER WAGES $7.0m COACHES $0.7m Triangles AGE - 24.2 PLAYER WAGES $3.5m COACHES $0.6m These figures say nothing about the playing strength of each team, but it's amazing that the Mascots have an Elite-calibre roster with such a low wage bill.
