Cool We might have to start PM-ing people at some point. I've pledged $30m, i'll put more in once others start pledging

Indeed we should start asap, considering that we won't know the identity of the new teams coming up (promotion) and down (relegation).

The potential profit from this seems Very slim for the amount required. Marginal.

I think I'm going to wait and see if there is large and full participation.

Let's hope not everyone thinks like this!

We're up to 11.6% and it only started yesterday, not bad

I fully agree with you for the economical aspect And the risk is clearly existing.
The aim here is to create discussion and improve community communication.
But I'm afraid that first point would be a strong break for the second one.

I think using this thread to figure out how much people will pledge before the begining of next season is a good idea, i think we have enough money to make profit on this, but only if most managers are involved.

Pete posted this in the Galaxy thread:

If you guys are not sure what will happen: just go to the mediacenter and "pledge" the full amount. Until Seasonrollover it will costs nothing, and you can see the result, the return. This should convince you. No worries, at season rollover all pledges are reset, so this is without any risk for you.

I figure we all shove money in now to see what we'd get, if all of us sticking money in means we get $10m for nothing it's worth it?

As long as we make 75% funded at the beginning of the season, it makes the most sense for the individual manager to pledge the maximum amount he can afford. That's how I understand it

That sounds correct. The frustrating thing would be if there are, for example, six managers that would pay $50m, but only when it's at 50%, then that's $300m that could get us to the total!

I just loaded my 50 mill pledge. Has anyone contacted the other non pledgers so we can see what we might be looking at??

Right now it's at 50% loss.
