OK, let's start this.
In my opinion there is no question about this, it has to be Star Trek. The question is...which one? I like "The next generation" a little bit more than the classic one, like Voyager because of the story, and Deep Space 9 because of the mix of races involved. I dislike "Enterprise", and have not seen this Netflix stuff yet. Oh, and of course every single movie is worth watching it over and over again. My favorite one ist the first one, because it brings back memories from my youth, where we left the cinema, just to enter it again immediately. It was in the GDR, where there was no VHS rental or anything similar, and going to the cinema was really cheap. But why do I love Star trek so much? It makes me thinking this could happen in a near or far future. Not like in Star Wars, where you know it is pure phantasy... Thanks Gene, for the idea... Last edited on 2018-03-26 21:19:19 by pete |

3 comes to mind:
Twin peaks, Sherlock and Riget (the danish/original version of Kingdom, by Lars Von Trier). All 3 combines great suspence and humor. |

Hum, i will not consider in my top three the ones with less than 3 seasons as a tv show must be assessed over time.
But I would advice The Wire, Game of Thrones and Breaking Bads. Now I binged watched True Detective and Westworld. I am looking forward to see what’s coming out in the next season. The first one can definitely integrate the top 3 if season 3 is as good as the 2 firsts. About football I enjoyed Friday Nigth Ligths ans The League (first seasons, the last 2 were mediocre). Just to relax and laugth, i really like The Big Bang theory, the Good Place, Blackish, New Girl and Modern Family. |

The Wire I liked how each season was a different piece that added to the greater whole. It was such a detailed and nuanced piece of storytelling throughout that it's still entertaining to watch even years after it ended. |

Surprised no mention for The Sopranos as yet.
However one particular series that was pure genius in a very British satire, Brass Eye whixh is heavily linked to The Day Today and Alan Partridge. They never made many but one episode in particular called.Paedogeddon is pure brilliance and achieves all it.sets out to do and more. Last edited on 2018-03-27 17:17:41 by oakbark |

The Sopranos was the best until I saw the Wire, then it became number 1. Loved Star Trek when I watched it growing up and it still holds up even now. Game of Thrones keeps me in awe and Breaking Bad was possibly the best story from start to finish.
Current favourite is definitely the Good Place, best thing there's been on tv in years! |

The Sopranos was very good for much of the life of the series, but the way it ended sucked. I'm interested in the prequel that in the works "The Many Saints of Newark". It will be a movie set in the era of the Newark riots in the 60s. That sounds pretty cool to me.

I guess my top 3 would be:
The Simpsons: because I just love a good laugh and the team behind the series just knocks me out on almost every episode. Game of Thrones is a masterpiece, imo. Sadly looking forward to the final season. Dexter - I was so hooked on this series I could hardly wait for the next episode to come out. Not all seasons are super - and I think they should have stopped the show before the final season - or waited until they had a proper story. In the race: Narcos (Netflix), very interesting and different. The story about the Columbian drug cartels and US involvement. I love it when a movie/series have the respect to let people speak their native tongue. So Colombians speak spanish and americans english. Nothing worse than those old war movies where the germans speak english El Chapo (Netflix): About the infamous mexican druglord. ....yeah, guess I have a passion for drug lords....
