I ask this question because it doesn't matter if they are 18 or 22 they won't stay on your roster until retirement because you can't afford them.
Do you have a preference either way, and why? |

I usually focus on 19 or 20 yo players as they could enter someone's YA so they have higher TM value.
If you wish to keep them in your roster, those young players can reach the desired skill levels earlier and so become "productive" for your team for a longer time. |

I agree with Rio 100%! In the first round I look at what my squad needs most and try to draft the best player, but also pay attention to age, because the younger the player, the longer he will play and the younger he will have the skills to help my team. If there is no player left to strengthen my squad I look at the age to sell the player as much as possible. And younger players are much more profitable than older ones (21 and older) due to the possibility of putting them in the YA

The younger they are the better because it can work both ways.
You either can keep him and develop him or you can sell him in which case there will be teams who will battle for the player because he will enter the YA and there you can transform him into a beast (like i did with my first draft pick today). On the other side, if you find a 50 strength/50 speed player at 21 or 22 years, well, that's a different story, but i understand  |

Actually that has been my problem I train all their relevant stats up and end up maxing them before they are 26 to 28 years old.

If talent is 3* = max skill is at 44, then you should be safe with salaries under 200.000$, but everything higher then 44.0 needs to be stoped. Train C skills as example until 27-28 years or you can give a franchise contract and after that take them to the max. |

i only train skills to 45-ish for most players until they are 28 or 29

I sell almost all my draft picks...I think age matters a lot for the selling price.

Yes, age does matter. If you want to see age linked with experience. Also, our friend Manuel tells : -"Based on the players age, he will get hit harder if player aged 30 years or more - the hit gets higher the older a player gets." -"Players with age 31 or higher might lose some abilities." -"Players with age 31 or higher are getting less playtime during games." |
