I didn't have time at the moment to copy and paste, so I don't know where it is now to post here, but recently had a game where I was running the ball in a 2TE formation, the opp blitzed a LB, and the feed listed both TEs as successfully blocking. I've been having fun trying to visualize how exactly that goes down.

I just had this Olband in my game today

3 and goal to go on opp 2, Boyd Leslie (OC) snaps the ball to Ovidiu Antohi (QB), Ciprian Cozac (HB/C) gets the ball, he starts running over the right end, Dmitri Zemskov (DE/L) breaks through, Grégory Lombard (FS/C) goes for the blitz, Radu Petrache (TE/L) blocks, Pavel Costea (TE/R) blocks, Ciprian Cozac (HB/C) tackled by Charles Bayle (OLB/L), forward progress: 2 yards (Singleback Big vs. 4-4-3)

So 1 TE blocks the DE, the other blocks the SF in my oppinion.

What is so amazing about it? It did not say "TE1 blocks the LB, TE2 blocks the same LB", right?

I always find it funny when the ball is punted 40 or more yards and there is any kind of return, yet maybe a couple of seconds come off the clock. I had one today where I don't think ANY time came off the clock. I just always imagine some stressed out punt returner back there quaking in his cleets while he waits to get his head blown off by the punter!

[EDIT]
My bad! A buddy of mine just pointed out that the clock does not start until the reciever touches the ball. Still doesn't explain all the super fast return times entirely, but it is not as amusing now that I know this.

amusement withdrawn.
I went and found it and sure enough, there was a DE that broke through in addition to the blitzing LB, so the 2 blocks make sense.
What a downer.

Your buddy should stop pointing that out since it's wrong. 4th down is a timed play like any other. If the clock is stopped, it starts on the snap.

A punt should take at least 5 seconds. From snap to punt is about 1.5 and an average punter should get at least 4 seconds of hang time.

I should have more confidence I guess. Anyway, I knew all that about the hang time. You can also figure that at best, a returner is running a 4 minute 40, so every 5 yards adds .5 seconds of linear running, which never occurs on a punt return by design. So we have this from today's game as an example:

13:24 Sidney Fultz (P) punts the ball from own 47 for 49, Ty Oakes (KR/C) is returning the ball, tackled by Freddy Rigby (G/L), this was a 7 yards return

13:21 1 and 10 to go on own 11, Kobe Navarro (OC) snaps the ball to Tim Hawks (QB), Tim Hawks (QB) selected J.J. Snowden (WR/L) as target, Gabino Gómez (MLB) seems to go for the blitz, the receiver of this outer screen left pass catches the ball, J.J. Snowden (WR/L) tackled by Freddy Rigby (CB/R), forward progress: 5 yards (Singleback Big vs. 3-3-5)

At a minimum, a 49 yard kick and 7 yard return should have taken just under 8 seconds. But this punt took only 3 seconds! We know the returner is not superhuman because his speed could be no more than 52.5 with traits, so 1.5 seconds is him running 7 yards straight upfield. That means the ball was snapped at best in 1.2 seconds and then punted where it cleared 49 yards in just .3 seconds! However, if that snap does not go perfectly and it takes more than the average time of 1.5 seconds, this ball is moving forward positionally, yet backwards through time!!!!

So yeah, I guess this is funny again! Thanks Rufio! You have made my night!

You should have more confidence! Think if there was a fake punt, they can't decide part of the way through the play of they'll start the clock or not.

I feel like the times in that play might be a little unrealistic. It's funny you broke it down that way.
