At last ... a rather boring and oh-so-long Season has finished. Now for a nice long relaxing break with just some G*I to provide the fun-factor.

Instead of doing a "RunningBack X ran for 977,456 yards this season" type of review (who cares how many yards teams score against Bots ), I thought that I'd have a quick look at the League and try to focus on one or two different areas .... you might like it, you might hate it .... anyway, it is what it is

Season 4 vs Season 5 :-

Difficult to compare, as each team has a different strength-of-schedule and some teams have new competition in their Division ... but ...I've just simply compared the number of wins for Teams in Season 4 vs Season 5 ... so, if Team A won 10 in Season 4 and 11 in Season 5 then Team A will show as + 1 ... simple. Interpret this however you like :-

The Northern Riviera+5
Steely Phils+2
Nebraska Cornhuskers +2
Horadada Blues +2
Scarlet Scorpions +1
Madrid Typhoons +1
Fajny Tim +1
Stuttgart Supernovas 0
Essen Panthers 0
Majalorca Pigs 0
Oldham Typhoons 0
S F 0
Yurop Lions 0
Girona Dragons 0
Zaragoza Manos -1
Sweaty Bulls Padova -1
Comedy Gold Minors -1
Kolin Walruses -2
Mystic Warriors -2
Malakas Bull -3
Shoutin The Odds -3
Pink Panthers -5
Les Mousquetaires -7

Underestimated Teams
Here are 3 teams that, IMO, tend to fly under the radar and are probably better than you think ..... underestimate these teams at your peril !

(1) Yurop Lions
Division winners for 2 consecutive years, and only 3 narrow league losses this year (once to S F, and twice to The Northern Riviera whoever they might be ) , Yurop are now firmly in the 'elite' teams of Dragons 1.1 ........ and this team can pass the ball too unlike a certain Rush-rush-rush American team

(2) Nebraska Cornhuskers
Playing in one of the toughest 1.1 divisions (more on that later in this article), Nebraska had a 7-9 record which quite possibly translates to 10-6 or 11-5 in an easier Division.

(3) Fajny Tim
Not only a cool team, but a successful G*I Manager who clearly knows what he's doing (lol ... unlike plenty of Managers in G*I ).
Bagss is the most consistently inconsistent Manager, but we still luvvvvv him for that
However .... any more of those 'Shotgun 4 rush-over-the-left-end' Gimmicky tricks and Bagss will be exiled forever to some really Shit League ...... like Admirals 1.1 for example

The Rookie Teams
I really do hate the word 'rookie' it's just sooooooo American ...... but anyway, let's have a quick look at how the Newcomers (there ... never said Rookie at all ) coped with their 1st season in 1.1 :-

Red Black Warriors 11-5
Fighters de Paris 7-9
Duran Durans 5-11
NoName 4-12
Huncutok 3-13
Ordes Saints 1-15

Strong Divisions vs Weak Divisions
It's often been mentioned that Team A plays in a 'really strong' division, whereas Team B has an 'easy' division...... but do they ? and who really does have a strong/weak Division ?
Well .... this again doesn't account for strength-of-schedule etc .... but I've just simply added together the Wins of each team in a Division to calculate who has the most 'winningest' (made-up word !) Division :-

Division (Winner)(Total Wins by all teams in Division)

NC South (Yurop) (43)
AC West (Majalorca) (41)
AC East (Steely) (39)
AC North (Madrid) (38)
NC North (S F) (29)
NC West (Girona) (24)
NC East (Oldham) (22)
AC South (Stuttgart) (18)

AC Conference = 41+39+38+18 = 136
NC Conference = 43+29+24+22 = 118

I'm pretty pleased with my season and the 5-11 score I got. When I first saw what division I was placed in I was sure I'd be close to relegation so to avoid even a relegation playoff game is IMO a great result. I was pretty lucky to beat both bot teams before they went bot. Rapiers went bot a day after and Salamanca 3 days after playing me. Hopefully I'll get some good players in the draft this year to help me close the gap with my divisional rivals as I'll probably need some wins off of them to stay in 1.1 next season. If we played the NC South and AC West next season I could see myself going 2-14 easily.

So what are your thoughts on making this much of an improvement next year?

I was thinking that The Northern Riviera -5 would be ideal ....the Draft Picks at 6-10 are soooooo much nicer

I'm coming to the realization that I might not get anyone in my top 5. I should have tanked.

I don't understand why U think draft is so important

@sh8888, thanks for putting in a good word for me

lol .... yeah, don't forget that Bagss drafted 3 RB's in one draft, and 3 QB's in another draft.... so it's no surprise that he views the Draft with a wary eye

I'm not sure if easy is the correct word .....I think it's a case of seeing what works and what doesn't work , and then patiently persisting with what does work and avoiding the temptation of doing stupid things.
The Financial aspect of G*I is harder than RZA .... in G*I when you get in a high Division with great players the costs really start to rise quickly .... quite a few managers don't see that coming until it's too late.
