Hello all and welcome to the weekly football show about the league that is on the up in RZA universe: Thunder 1.1!

With this late in the season almost every game has a play-off implications. But some don't and are purely played for honour and bragging rights. So it is as well for these two teams who will battle it out tomorrow: Chesterton Cheese vs Newcastle Knights

The Cheese took those honours earlier this season but the Knights could fashion an upset in their own house.

We are trying to contact the managers of both clubs. Stay tuned for hopefully some juicy interviews coming in...

Out beat reporter had no problem finding smokerteer of the Chesterton Cheese who came out all guns blazing and put a real stake in the ground with this interview:

Question 1. You won the earlier match up against the Knights. With the division title going to to the Broncos how important is that second spot to you?

Firstly thank you for choosing the Game between us and the Knights as the game of the week. Certainly this game is a must win for us. The Knights have progressed well this season and it should be a good game but I think both teams will want to make a statement, the Broncos had it far too easy this season and the question remains which team can challenge them or their Elite replacement for the title next season. This game should answer that question and give one set of fans belief that next season could be far more competitive. This game isn't about second spot - it's all about one teams destiny in the next season.

Question 2. Rumours are flying around that the Cheese is in financial problems and that this could easily affect the roster soon. What do you have to say against these rumours?

We have spent this last couple of weeks getting in players ready for the upcoming season. Hopefully the lightweight offensive and defensive line will be a thing of the past now, not to mention the worst OLB performance in the division. Against the Knights some of these players will have the chance to prove that they are worth the investment we have put in. That said, finances will be tight during the off-season but hopefully we can stay in the black and with draft coming too, we're hoping that next season will see us emerge as true contenders.

Question 3. What do you think the key deciding factor in this game will be?

The key factor? There is no key factor, everyone on this team knows their role, and will be concentrating on their jobs and covering their team-mates. We need to cover low team chemistry of some players but as long as our passing, rushing, defence and special teams play as they should, victory will be ours! The Knights are dangerous but The Cheese can be very, very dangerous and this week they will be.

This just in from the league office: Chesterton Cheese has bought five players in the last 24 hours and put nine up for sale. Is this a sign of adjusting to a new financial reality or defiance in the face of adversity?

Who knows but it makes it clear that both teams do not see this game as a lazy late-season game. This is turning into a statement game for next season already with pre-season planning starting NOW for both these teams it seems.
