The goal was always to have players peeking at their 30...and the chart above shows this is working as expected. There are 2 ways from here, if I dislike screwing my economy...allow players to stay but make them more expensive, or keep the economy as it is, and kick these players out of the game step by step.

How about we throw in a career ending injury as a random event based on statistical positional probability ?

I agree with you pete, that players should peek at their 30 (maybe even a year or two earlier), but I think that the process of the selection who retires needs to be reworked.

Players don't retire because "75% of the players at the age of 33 retire", they retire because of injury, skill regression and so on.

Imo those factors should be included in the calculation if a player retires (i.e.: a 33 year old player who still gets a lot of playing time at a successful team and who was never hurt is highly unlikely to retire, while a 30 year old player who is a back-up in a bad team and who was already hurt for like 10 times during his career, is very likely to retire).

I also liked the idea of the career-ending injury, maybe limited to players who are above 30, like "Player X is injured for 20 days, due to his injury history he doesn't see himself capable of playing football any longer, he will retire immediately"

It seems we should move on outside this thread here, since it is more like a suggestion now than a bug...
