Good day to y'all and welcome back to the Game of the Week show. The definitive source of off-the-field drama in the RZA Thunderverse!
And boy oh boy do we have a extremely saucy game for you this week. But be careful, this one is fiery and hot! These juggernauts met each other in the plays offs with the Divers going in at half time with 17 points scored and none allowed. Game over you would think right? Well, think again as Fliegers came out roaring and turned the tables on the Divers and then some winning 24-17 after being behind 17-0 at the start of the 3rd quarter. So now they are back for a match that will shake the earth (figuratively speaking of course) and our writers are out on the hunt for an interview. |

This just in: Henry Levy (FB) of Flerschem Flieger is out with a neck sprain. He was the leading rusher in terms of TD scored (5). This must be seen as a big loss!

We met up with long time friend of the show thomastem and this is what he had to say:
Question 1. In four seasons in Thunder 1.1 you only lost 7 times!! That is amazing stat. That must make last season's Play Off loss against Flieger that much more painful. After destroying them in the first half they did the same to you. A league investigation into deflated footballs is still running but that loss still stands. Will you team be extra motivated by revenge? We will show up. Question 2. DL Barney Wilburn has missed as many tackles as he made successful tackles. Surely that is not good enough for a team of M Divers stature? Barney is a backup. So yes you are correct he isn't ready to start for us. But if you look at his physicals and age he will be a good one. Question 3. Give me a stat about your team that you think will matter this season? The defense is a beast. I do not believe I am boasting when I say that the Defense is probably better than half of the Ds in Elite. The turnovers my Defense cause is the stat I'd give. Question 4. What do you think will be the deciding factor in this game? Turnovers 
BONUS Question. With life in the Elite being so brutal would you still want to get promoted or do you prefer to be a successful Thunder 1.1 rather than a fledgling Elite team. Also related to previous question, do you think any team outside of Elite really stands a chance of ending up in the top half of Elite on a regular basis? I would like nothing more than to go up to Elite and force someone down to 1.1. The situation with my retirees this season make that impossible though. I have no doubt that many in Thunder can go up to Elite and tear it up given time. |
