The race in order to be not relegated is inside the division, you know it before and you cannot complain about it. Infact punch drunk knows very well this point and he is asking to relegate only one team per division or rising the number to five. (I do not like the proposal to rise the number to five anyway). What do you guys think about an ALLSTARS league above Elite? 16 teams, AC and NC conferences, two divisions(4 teams each) in each conference. 6 Teams per conference in the playoffs, the other 2 get relegated and replaced by Divisional Elite winners. Extra promotions in the first season in all actual leagues.... As any kind of structural change seems impossible we should look into this and discuss it. Sounds interesting to me. |

It seems that a regional Change of Teams is not wanted or does create Problems, so any Suggestion which does not involve a strict up and down inside the regions is from my Point of view unrealistic.
The best Change from my Point of view would be simply having a Relegation game between the bowl loser and the 3rd place Division in elite Team and the winner gets the spot in elite. By that the bowl winner, seems to be the strongest Team from the Region, gets an instand Promotion and the worst elite Team in each Division gets relegated, while the stongest Team between the bowl-loser and the 3rd place can fight it out. So likely at least the 3 best Teams of each Region get an elite spot, maybe even the best 4. That game could be played on Saturday before rollover-Sunday, or on Friday before rollover Sunday. But the worst right now is the big jump in competion between start (Level 2) and a Season later with likely playing Level 1. Sandbox leagues could solve that but that would mean structural changes and a more volatile Team Distribution. |

Although I quite like the idea in principle, at the moment the last three games of the season are 1st league bowls, 2nd SC bowl then 3rd COC bowl. Putting a relegation match on after these seems a bit of an anti-climax to me. 
Also the game would have to be on the Saturday in case one of the teams is involved in the COC final, I don't think it would make sense to have the potential of a team playing two games in one day. 
For me it seems easiest (and possibly fairest) if there was just one promotion place to each elite division, the bottom Elite team getting replaced by the ????????:1 bowl winner. After all the chance of the best two teams in a league being in different conferences is about 50:50. At the end of the day, Elite should contain the best teams from each region, or what is it for?  |

I think the initial idea of Peter to have both bowl participants promoted was to increase the difficulty of staying in Elite and increase the amount of competing Teams per Region.
But maybe I did missunderstood his Intention. We had in the past some Stange Situation where Managers did tank the conference final to avoid Promotion, so the solution is not the best right now. |
