It has been largely discussed among other options. Let’s focus on this proposition here, and only this proposition (please) as Pete seems open to consider it.
So instead of having 2 teams automatically relegated from each Elite division we would have a relegation game between the 8 Elite division 3rd managers and the 8 League 1 runners-up. The target is to really have the best managers in Elite by keeping a decent turnover. This game could happen on rollover Saturday (as rollover has been done on Sunday since years now) or the week before implying to play the League Bowls earlier. We could even consider adding one week to the season if that is possible. Last edited on 2019-04-05 12:53:39 by Kanar |

Not a big change but one in the right direction. Having been several times the runner up it would have been preferable to battle the third Elite team rather than just promoting to a losing season. My team has also been 3rd, if I remember correctly. But with no option to beat the first two I gave up during the season in Elite. I like the proposal.

seams like a no brainer to me.
The 8 teams that advanced from the EPIG's (Elite Play In Games) would have a more deserving ownership to those spots. |

I have an argument against such games: It is the way it is to so that the weakest 16 teams always go down after one season of Elite, to make room for other managers waiting for it. We have seen what happens with all these teams having more or less secure spots in elite, and I somehow don't like it.

This is exactly the reason why we are talking as much about structural reforms. By the way, in our region the next two former Elite managers are out. |
