Hey Fummer,

Re the Excel examples you gave (in excel: (age-18)*-10) (in excel: (age-18)*-10) how do you apply this in Excel cause I didn't have a clue.

Do you apply Define Name on for example the Age column. If so how does it exactly work? Could you perhaps share an empty sheet but with the formulas?

Thanks,
RoelRodgers

Just replace "Age" by the cell where the player's age is. For example, if Age is in column A you need to type "=(A1-18)*-10" for player 1, then "=(A2-18)*-10" for player 2 and so on and so forth. You can simply copy down so you only have to type the formula once.

The copy down function is (in the version i use) in the bottom right corner of the cell with the formula.

@Fummer,

in excel: (age-18)*-10

=(A1-18)*-10 for player 1
=(A2-18)*-10 for player 2

You have to correct something.
What's the result if player2 is 20 yo ?

According to the above (the quote) :

Age is in column A
in excel: (age-18)*-10
(to copy down or drag down)

=(A1-18)*-10 for player 1
=(A2-18)*-10 for player 2

Let's say :
Player1 is 18 yo (so 18 in A1)
Player2 is 20 yo (so 20 in A2)

a player at age 20 would get a -20 penalty.

To answer the question, the result is -20 but player2 will never get a -20 penalty.

in excel: (age-18)*-10
Replacing "age" by the cell (age)

(A1-18)*-10 for player 1 = (18-18)x(-10) = 0
(A2-18)*-10 for player 2 = (20-18)x(-10) = -20 (should be -40)

One other thing about AGE.

When we have the new draft list, AGE goes from 18 to 22.

"I use excell for all calculations.
Age: 18=0, 19=-10, 20=-20 etc. (in excel: (age-18)*-10)"
(Fummer ,2015-05-10 21:09:56 (ID: 100053850))

AGE___Penalty
18____ 0
19___ -10
20___ -20
21___ -30
22___ -40
23___ -50

Players aged 18 don't get any penalty.

Then comes the rollover, followed by the new season and 3 days draft.
What happened ?

AGE goes from 19 to 23.

AGE___Penalty
18____ 0
19___ -10
20___ -20
21___ -30
22___ -40
23___ -50

All the players get a penalty.
Players with a penalty of -20 (-40 points) before rollover will get a penalty of -30 (-90 points) on day draft.

I still dont see the problem. Ok, ive set it up so its before season rollover, but still the younger the player, the smaller the penalty. I dont see how you get to the double penalty points. 20-18= 2, 2*-10=-20.
