I was thinking about how to get them to repeatedly come back and get more interested in the game verses making an account and never logging back in.

You have their email address, make it so when someone sends you a message in RZA, the message would go to their email address as well. Also make a section where top managers could click a box, not to receive these emails.

My idea is, why write a message to a newbie, that is never going to log back into the game to see the message. But if the message we wrote went to his email where he would see it, it would be worth sending them welcome messages and just maybe we would keep more of the newbies playing which would improve the game.

Based on local laws, I am German and bound to local law, I would have to deal with several issues regarding DSGVO and Double Opt-in, if I provide such a functionality. I guess, I cannot do that without some major changes in my policies.

Was just a thought, I know how laws and policies do have to be followed, maybe just a message to them from RZA that they have mail might get them to log back on to read it. I am not sure as to how you could legally do something like that, but if you could find a way it might help keep a few newbies more active.

In germany, it is possible to send a notification by e-mail when you receive a message in a game. However, the user would have to clearly agree to this. Without the user's consent for such a notification, this is not permitted. But how to build such a function into a page or how difficult the whole thing is to do, i don't know of course.

Just too much for the outcome of such a function, could be wrong.

Another risk is to be put on spam blacklists, the risk raises with each email sent. I like to fly under the radar of such blacklists, still I managed to land there a few times over the past years. People felt annoyed of this single mail telling the account would be disabled within 3 days because of inactivity.
