I ran out of chances negotiating a contract for a player. Is there any recourse for this or are they gone from my team forever?
Can I shut off HR department, have them stay and then turn it back on and negotiate everyone's contract again? |

He's gone. You could try firing then release to the transfer market from your roster history and try buying back.

Doesn't shutting off HR sign everyone?

From the manual: Once you switch for Contracts you can NOT switch back to Skill based salaries until the next Seasonrollover is over.

One should save between 10 and 15% of the salaries if the HR was activated AND the negotiation is done carefully with some common sense So, I was thinking to switch to HR (I know, everything has to be done no later than tomorrow). I was trying the demo negotiation to have a few hints, and that nice guy, whose extimated wage will be 20.400, never accepted a 22k offer or less for a 1+2 contract. I had to go up to 22.500. I understood that a 90% or so before the rollover should have worked for a normal contract (not franchise) but we're talking about 110% here... Does the demo only aim to show you how it works but amounts are not the real ones or should I work on that 110%? Thank you |

I tried it with the same rule I did my roster negotiation and which did work out very well, since all are under contract for the next season. But that demo ... he said after 5 tried 'get lost'. So my conclusion on the demo is, it only does show how the process is, but does not reflect the acceptable range for negotiations. As rule of thump, now prior the season rollover, 1+ and 2+ season contracts are good to go at 15% less than the estimated wage in the window. Many times that works even on 1st try, so less would have eventually worked also, but you only have 5 tries. The worst I had this season was I think 12% off. |

All right, i did my job. Although my wages grew up to 300k from 200k (i know, newbie here
) i'm quite satisfied from savings.
I still have a question, though. Manual says you can negotiate up to 5 franchise contracts. This means 5 for season or it means you can't have more than 5 franchise at the same time? So, If i signed up 5 franchise contracts now, i have 5 more available next season or i can't do others until the actual 5 expire or i get rid of one or more franchised players? Thanks. |

The second option: you can only have 5 active franchise contracts. It does not matter in which season they were signed. In the HR department you have a column that tells you which players have an active franchise contract. When negotiating a new contract, if you already have 5 franchise contracts, the franchise contract option is not available. Therefore, there is no possibility of error (signing more than 5 contracts). |
