Well, 4 new managers in the last 2 days is a great sign. Maybe Fire will be rekindled after all.

Regardless, a fuller league recruits for itself. Sea Devils is 100% full, then us with only 4 vacancies. The rest of the leagues look like a BOT graveyard. I think the recruiting actions Sea Devils took hurt the game, honestly. Rather all leagues at 80% full than two 100% and rest 60%.

Sea devils haven't recruites 49 teams out of the other 7 regions. We recruited an average of about 1.0 or 1.5 teams per region in all seasons of the 50s cumulated. This is 0.5 or 0.75 teams per conference. This number also contains the teams who joined us themselves without beein contacted by us. The teams who left us into other regions are not considered! I'm sorry, but we're not the reason for the bot-problem of 14 other conferences. |

It's pretty clear that new managers gravitate towards the fuller leagues. So I knew SD would fill up. But now that it has, we've had an influx of new managers in Fire. Let's just be as welcoming and helpful to them as possible. Show them the ropes, and try to get them to stick around. It makes such a huge difference. I was about to walk away from the game before this league started filling up because I'm sick of being the only active member on the forums and feeling like I'm playing a simulation.

Was a good run, far better than anticipated. Gratz to the Pro's, great team, amazing season, and at least we can hold our head high that we kept it within a score. Good luck to all going forward.
I have sent out a few messages to some active members of other leagues in hopes to bring them over to fill in the last of our BOT teams. We have had an influx of new managers, and I hope they all stick around and realize how fun this game can actually be with the right community. I have also sent them all welcome messages with a few tips, thanks to the advice from a good friend in Sea Devils who's also hoping to see Fire become the 2nd league to remain full and competitive. Going forward, I will get back to doing my weekly game reviews for next season. I'll stick out out and step up to try and be the glue that keeps this league on fire. We were once great, possibly the best. We will have our glory again, and all of you new managers will be the reason why. So get advice from veterans, be patient and don't expect to win everything right off the bat. Slow roll your team's progression. Remember, this game is more about money than your team. Once you have the money, you can afford to have the team. That's when the real fun begins. So take the first few seasons and learn the game, learn how to manage and train a roster, how to build a playbook. Learn how to scout opponents, learn what works and what doesn't. While doing this, you'll see that bank account steadily going up. Then, when you have a grasp of the game and a bank of cash, it's time to light the league on FIRE! Looking forward to this upcoming season and working with all of you. I will be highly encouraging forum participation as it really makes a world of difference when you have a community. So again, I look forward to seeing you all here, and best of luck this post-season, and next season! |
