For anyone who likes to balance player training to gradually increase a number of different stats evenly (eg POS & VIS), how do you go about it?

Do you manually check each player on screen after each training report and then tweak the instructions for the next update?

Yes, that's how it goes.
There is that management studio, which might help to have the deeper view on that, but I never used the software myself.

I also use the notes on each player to remind myself what I am currently focusing on, meaning which skill or physical attribute.

In general I do usually train this way:
Physicals SPE and STR capped in general.
Then depened on the difference between AGI and all other skills, the % on physical training is adjusted between 10% and 50%.
At 10% I have AGI much higher than the other skills, so that needs to be trained slower as the rest, but since physical training is at least 10% required and AGI usually needs training until it caps or gets to the region I like it to stop, AGI gets the 10%.
20% to 30% are used for trainings where AGI should increase slowly in the same way as the other skills, like from 36 to 37 or so. 20% usually for positions where I train 4 other skills, like OL, 30% for positions with just 3 skills, like LB.
40% and 50% when AGI is behind the other skill values and therefore slowly a catchup happens.

I usually avoid 90% training on AGI and try to train other skills at the same time.

In best case the skills are on the same level and 20%-30% AGI training happens, then I switch more or less every training the other skills, like TAC, then VIS, then POS, then FOO, then again TAC and so on.

I go through the report and check the player page when a skill goes past a certain threshold, mostly 30, 35, 38 and after each after 40 and adjust training. mostly I change between pos/vis and blocking/tackling/footwork/ carrying/catching period depending on my faciliy use.

physical caps I write in the player notes when I get to know the caps

In my first stint, every 2 weeks I did a roster download to check on which player the experience changed so I coild track that also in the player notes. Now I am too lazy for that
