Professional Teams Gone Broke

On April 20, 2011, Baseball commissioner Bud Selig announced that Major League Baseball was taking the drastic step of taking control of the Los Angeles Dodgers. "I have taken this action because of my deep concerns regarding the finances and operations of the Dodgers," he said. However, after Selig rejected a lucrative television deal that stood to infuse the team with much-needed cash, the team filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection on June 27, 2011.

Very true and you couldnt pay your players wages so they are now playing for teams that could

You had plenty of time last season to make sure you could keep all your players but you ignored it. Not only are you an imbecile but you're also a cry baby who whines because you expect to be able to go into the red, ignore the warnings, then keep your players even though the rules are very specific about this.

Kyle is in a different situation sure he's overspent like you but he couldn't be proactive about it because the TM was shut. Please Pete fire another one of this idiots players I would literally piss myself laughing at you

I know you are,..but what am I?

I try to show where there are FLAWS in this game. I Played football for 13 years. In the country where the game was CREATED. You think it is boo hooing and whining because you wanna stick your head in the sand and just ignore a problem. THE PROBLEM Is ... it is UNREALISTIC....

You need to take a midol dude,... I think you are bleeding...

This is a sports sim there is no collective bargaining agreement like in the NFL so therefore each team is run like a business.

Pompey since this they have dropped 3 divisions and lost all of their players.

Leeds this was the second time they hit financial problems after losing several international players for next to nothing. Again most of their squad walked.

After last league game, I had 35 million in the bank.

as of right now, I have 9 million in the bank.

after Wednesday, I will have about 5 million in the bank,....

Since my first league game is on the road (again) this comming Saturday, I will have about 1 million left in the bank one week from today.

that will be about 34 million, without playing a meaningful game, during the off season....

You could save about 700k per week by hiring a level 85 coach, rather than level 100.

If you sell your 4* kicker, you could save another 300k per week.

That's 1 million per week easily.
