Chances are in real life if your a first rd pick or talent you have certain measurables that translate great in the work out sheet. But more often than perspective teams would like, that player ends up being a bust on the field or to a lesser extend never ends up having the career he or the team would have liked them to.
On the flip side.... they say championship teams are built on drafts of 3-5th rounders and if you can find high impact guys in that area its a testament to your scouting department and training programs... I'm just curious if this game engine operates similar in that regard. What I mean is.... if I have a level 20 scout.. will they 100% of the time report an accurate assessment on how good that player is in terms of how he will be on the field? Is it possible that a lack in my training program and/or strategic philosophy can hinder the overall development of a top flight talent? Likewise... can my level 20 scout somehow grade a player wrong and that player actually (or potentially) be a lot better than he is presently described? or (and I think most important) Can my team develop such great facilities and excellent coaching strategies that we can more easily turn a 3* rated player into a 4 1/2*? to say it in more clear terms... is there Ryan Leaf potential in this game and is there Tom -G.O.A.T-/Kurt Warner potential in the game? |

I don't think there is a possibility for having such busts or gems.
The only thinks the level 20 scout don't see are the caps of the physicals. So if you draft a strength 45 OL with 4,5 stars, what should go wrong? He might already cap at strength, no big deal. To have such behaviour you are asking for, would mean to hide all skills and have them described with x% wrong or right. And to hide talent completly. THEN you suddenly got a half star QB (which you don't know of) and you wonder why he capped at 36.5.  |
