okay thank. I was under the impression that money was earned, or players progressed from playing friendlies

You could play this game for free!! You don't have to pay for credits. It's up to you if you want to pay and get some additional features or not.

Nope, it does not cost credits to play games... Only for friendlies Wednesday and Sunday which give you nothing more. All regular games are free...

Yes everyone is correct, and as it says in the manual under Credits:
By using these credits you can purchase several items inside the game that make the management experience more exciting. However, you can gain no direct advantages in games through the use of credits. |

For free friendly games taht are played on Fridays, for example, your team does get money. And your players gain a little experience and team chemistry for those free friendlies. However, for the friendlies that you can "buy" with credits, your team does not get any money and the players do not get any progression in experience or team chemistry. Those friendlies are used by some to just try out different tactics and such. |
